Also @Veleda, I don't get why you have an issue with bears, there wasn't any bears near those objectives when I got them.

I was just following the quest marker. It's on a hillside above a camp out in the western part of the Hinterlands. In fact I searched both areas where the quest markers were pointing and didn't find either of Blackwall's tchotchkis. Oh well.

NOT WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO FIND A QUEST ITEM. I can't just ride off when I'm searching for something.

But I did walk off, eventually. That quest will just have to stay open.

Anyway, I get it. You enjoy the gameplay, so being forced to do stupid shit doesn't matter as much to you. I'm just trying to open up some dialogues but there's YouTube I guess.

Wow, k, I'm just going to leave that alone.

It was annoying to try and find, but clicking that search button that reveals items to click on makes it a bit easier, if you're not already doing that.

You don't. The amount of power to gain through main story missions is generally enough to keep you going along with some more important side quests, like getting the horses for the inquisition.

You get power through getting all Landmarks in an area as well. Many of which can be easily acquired without fighting. You need 8 to get Iron Bull, Sera and Viviene and then 15 for either mages or templars. That's 23.

I gained close to six times that number and I did go through all the areas and explored everywhere I could.

I dont know... You seem too happy playing the Dragon Age version of Vlad Tepes :p to be an unbiased source regarding the combat (which you admit is far from great).

Im still weighing on the matter really (buying it or not, even at a later stage). It's clear that the story kind of is worth it, but having to plough through 15-20 hours of MMO kind of fetch quests in order to finish the game would be a snooze-fest to me. :dead:

@ Unkindled: I do and I did. I ran all over that fucking bear-infested hillside, pressing V and fighting bears ad nauseum.

Whatever. I'm just trying to finish the game once.

Yes, you do. For one thing you can't progress until you've leveled enough to handle the bosses and that requires going out and doing tedious shit because leveling takes forever. And the mechanics are so irritating that this just makes the game a drag.
The bosses in story missions are fairly easy to handle even on Nightmare. On Casual they should be pretty easy to handle.

As for certain mobs in the world being too hard to handle. That's true but it's worth keeping in mind the game is designed for you to to come to areas once you level up more. There's a High Dragon in the Hinterlands that supposedly level 12.

Well I'll tell you for a fact that fighting it as a level 12 is suicide.

Anyway Loghain:

He might show up after this point. I dunno. He's pretty involved.

And totally have to steal this because it was just too funny.

It was and is. As much as I like the game now, at the time it was infuriating me that there was so little to do beyond that. And when I got to something story related, it seemed blah. Then all of a sudden, shit got really real out of nowhere and you finally see just what it is you're trying to prevent, which is good, as I see that as a motive to make tough decisions despite who whines and bitches about them. They didn't see what my Inquisitor saw.

Anyway, I look at it like a book that takes too long to get interesting. Too much useless material that you could have thrown out and not lost a thing. But it does serve a purpose. However, a slow start to me is indeed a knock to a game, and this was the slowest. I had to laugh when Iron Bull suggested that they get a real leader, an inquisitor. Because I had played the game for that long and still hadn't even become the technical leader of the group, which is the whole focal point of the game in the first place. Gives you perspective, I think.

Besides Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Anora, Loghain and Merrill do you see anyone else from Origins?

The game still hasn't been delivered although Amazon are still telling me it's going to be delivered today. I am so fed up with waiting it feels like Christmas when you're a little kid and you're waiting for your parents to eat breakfast so you can start unwrapping the presents and suddenly dad decides he wants another slice of toast and you just want to scream.

:mean:

I...had no idea. Dead in mine! I..hope? I don't care about spoilers much, but I didn't know. OR much else about the current setting.

So I'm still liking it, but apparently, having fun in Hinterlands for THIS long isn't the idea, so it's off to Val Royal. I must have accrued 30 or 40 Power so far and I'm Inquisition rank 3 and I haven't left the Hinterlands. It's been fun!

The nook and cranny thing makes it interesting. Also respecs, so I've been rocking the different combos. Go deep in the lightning tree....it's prettttty sweet.

Used a trainer to get a load of Inquisiton power so i can do shit in my own pace without tedious grinding although it can damage your save so ill need to test things out abit tho.
Knowing my luck with these things it will probably fuck it up about 90% into the game :p

And i still cant find some nice armor for my mage -.-

Well I hit my first problem when Origin decided it didn't want to install my game from the disk.... but after scouring the EA help forums for other poor sods who experienced the same problem, I have fixed the issue and I'm now installing.

12%. I feel dizzy
