Dragon Age: Inquisition

I think people are furious you've got others trashing a game that they haven't even played. One thing is to express valid criticism over something you might have heard like Knight another is to completely take the shit on it. It's why I can't take people who piss on DA2 when they didn't play it for more then 2-3 hours let alone finish it and I LOATHE DA2.

About that scene, yeah the singing is not amazing, guess what it's not meant to be: There's a lot of good quality music in DA:I you think Bioware couldn't handle another good song? They choose not to.

Why? Because those are regular people supposed to be singing there, not singers with the exception of Leliana. You've just gotten the shit kicked out of your Inquisition by Corypheus and his army and barely survived, you are and your forces are alone, hungry, tired and cold in the mountains of Fereldan, morale at a low point. The mother there decides to lift the spirits by singing.

That scene is amazing in game. I care not what some people say on YT or V.

@Unkindled What did you go with?

If I want to I can find flaws in ANY game, including the Witcher 2 and post videos only about the flaws but I WON'T do that because I am looking at the whole picture. These videos somehow indicate that the whole quality of the game is like that, which respected people who actually have a reputation like TB and Videogamer refuted. People who make videos like these have too much power.

You want flaws from TW2? How about the oversaturated bloom, the horrible dithered shadows that mar the feel of the second act? I also find the part where Geralt tells Ves before he sleeps with her "let's drink to your needs" to be rather silly. What if I made videos of only the flaws I presented as if they were indicative of the quality of the whole game?

And? There would be nothing wrong with posting videos of W2 flaws and other games. Every game has some, more or less. You don't have to turn the argument upside down and list all your disliked features of Witcher 2, I know W2's flaws well enough. I also know, that W1 had more flaws than W2 and I still preferred it to 2.

I'm just saying, that from what I've seen (and I watched 'normal' videos as well) the writing is quite bad, setting is quite bland, gameplay and RPG part seem to be decent. That is my opinion, maybe I will change it, when I play the game.

Good man. Approved.

@Sagitarii The writing is bland because some dialogues are bland? Oh sure there is forgettable dialogue here I'll admit freely. There's also a lot of cringe worthy stuff like romancing Cassandra or Josephine.

The game however has solid writing. This is first time I've ever seen a game take a really long look at religion and have a swing about the arguments people use in real life over it. The existence of the a God, the usefulness of organized religion, the need of reform or the desire to keep things as they are. Belief and non-belief.

That's just one aspect of it. Corypheus might not mean jack shit as a good villain, but what he represents is far more interesting then any dumb fucking dragon that we had to deal with in DA:O.

If I am to believe DA:O was a quality game because of your interactions with side characters and and the various side stories present there, then DA:I far, FAR surpasses it.

Welcome back Bioware, we've missed you.

'K, sid's had to spend the last hour deleting posts.

It looks like things ARE calming down, so hopefully this warning won't be necessary, but if there are more posts of a similar nature, expect a time-out.

Don't care 'bout context, I simply can't listen to that singing, but this is coming from a guy who doesn't like Mariah Carey or Christina Aguilera (or most other pop/RnB singers, for that matter), either. I'm fairly hard to please when it comes to music.

Are you going to make a review?

It's like I said, Bioware definitely got their shit together. This is what a game that takes years and years to make should look like. Even with it's annoyances, and it definitely has them, this game is easily Game of the Year, if that even means anything to anyone anymore, lol. But pretending those journalists that vote on this still had any credibility at all, it's worth saying.

I'm honestly shocked. After Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3's ending, I thought Bioware was dead. Then they come around and release a game that's even better than origins.

I still prefer Origin's characters, and likely always will, but DA: I is a better game.

Like I said - from what I've seen.
I also just started playing Dragon Age Origins (15 hours for now) - and had fun in these 15 hours, but the writing is not it's strong suit. Maybe it's a personal opinion, but it's just bland. Game is pretty good though.

I don't either, so... I'm a Metallica guy. Demon Hunter, Machine Head, Ensiferum. It doesn't matter.

What you think of their singing means little. It's the point behind the singing that matters. Context is EVERYTHING.

edit: Well, Mariah Carey is a very good singer, but I don't listen to her.

Also, I don't hate Leliana anymore... that should tell you a lot. She's mature and competent now. I'm still hard on her, but it's tough love mostly.

Fucking hell this game is 60 EUROS!!! That's about 10 dollars extra for Europe and I live in Romania. Oh well, I'll make a sacrifice. It had BETTER be good.

So now that you've had some time wi' it can anyone explain how Lillyalan glued her bonce back on after I defiled the Sacred Ashes, i've been wondering about this shit for years, somebody enlighten me.

Context shmontext, it matters to me, the player. I'm sure it's an emotional scene and all that, but the singing kills it for me. I'd be muting that "singing" right quick.

Lots of people agree (needles to say). I think her singing's shrill, though.

Mexican Origin perhaps, then? 40$ for Standard edition, all languages included. Here is a thread on NeoGAF if you don't know what to do. It's a safe method.

I have just spend 5 hours in Skyhold, just talking to people and crafting things. I got here after 40 hours, and I've done what, 1/5 of the game?
