the game looks good and I'm really happy, especially after the disappointment of DA2!

Does anyone know where to find an uncompressed version of the video?

GamerSyde is the place to go, but you will have to wait for them to upload it. It usually takes a day.

Well, MMOs have a habit of teasing with "world" trailers. That's not an usual thing for RPG.

While that's true, I think that TW2's environments trailer did a much better job than that of DA:I, while keeping a distinct single player RPG feel.

Well that trailer looks much better than the cartoonishly oversized weapons we saw before. It does look kind of cool, but then again, it tells us nothing about the actual game, motivations, mechanics, reactivity, etc.

I am under the impression Bioware will lean towards the action side of things, with free roaming and so on and so forth. Like ReptilePZ said, it looks like an MMO mostly because they focus so much on the landscape. Like a freaking tourist board commercial. "Visit Ferelden, now with less Hawkes".

There is a leaked 30 minute video which is just gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IML4hhg8Yz0

The video quality leaves much to be desired but it should give you a general idea about the gameplay at least.

Either way, I still feel like we are in the dark with both DA:I and TW3. What happened to the good old days when devs released honest, unedited gameplay footage?

I will agree that the trailer seemed a little MMOish, but... I don't mind. To be honest, I'm just glad they are showing anything at all.

I have to say though that the Skyrim influence is strong here. I guess that's understandable when you sell 20 million copies of your game. The giant [?] in particular reeks of that influence.

Which is not a bad thing, hopefully both BioWare and CDPR will surpass the Skyrim formula. I bet even CDPR took a few notes from Skyrim, especially considering how big their world is. I just hope that BioWare and CDPR didn't bite more than they could chew. Gothic 3 tried to be the Oblivion killer and in the process sacrificed everything the series stood for.

The internets need for immediate reaction mixed with new medias hitcounter fetish accelerating the inevitable over-reaction to epic proportions, is what.

or you're looking at the past with golden eyes :p

Yep, I agree with Luxorek - definitely looks much better than their previous titles, though the environments still feel too MMO-esque, and the trailer itslef had that vibe too, which I didn't like. Good to see them step up their game, though.

Yeah I agree with Reptile. The MMO vibe is really off putting. Especially after playing Dragons Dogma and Kingdoms of Amalur. I'm so tired of that grinding MMO-turned-singleplayer, shit game design. There's been no indication that's the route BioWare is taking the game design but ugh. Anything that reminds of Dragons Dogma and Kingdoms of Amalur just sends the wrong message to me. Those were two generic, dull, boring, uncreative and unoriginal games that had the audacity to pad their already lackluster combat with mindless grinding. If Dragon Age 3 is ANYTHING like those, I'm skipping this one so hard.

Dark Souls 2 is so far away. Now THAT is a game with, presumably, incredible game design. That's the game developers should be looking to for inspiration. Not Skyrim. DA3 does look nice but for me it's more important whether or not the game plays nice.

Oh stop it, there is no MMO vibe there. What if CDPR made a similar video? I bet it wouldn't be offputting then, right? Maybe the devs are simply just proud of their work and want to show it to us?

I think the footage looks pretty good. As for any perceived MMO vibe, I'm just not getting it.

Just as an aside - and forgive me if this isn't the right place to be asking the question - but is anyone else not liking the new Bioware forums a bunch? I mean, it may just be me, but the amount of pony avatars, sexuality trumpeting banners and saccharine conversations seems to have increased since the redesign.

If you've read any of my posts on this forum, then you'd know that I most definitely would be saying the same if CDPR released a similar trailer. Although, their environmental design is far better than anything we've seen from DA:I.

I just want to point out that DA:O is one of my favourite RPGs and it essentially looked and played like WoW. PS:T is another RPG I enjoy even more than DA:O and I absolutely hate the setting, with all the brown. What I'm trying to say is that, while my comments may appear fairly negative, I'm actually not hating for the sake of hating (and, from my experience within this community, nobody else is either), as your post seems to suggest.

Not sure about the design, Fandango, but I relate, though maybe from a different direction - just the sheer amount of negativity I feel showered with every time I enter those forums. Maybe it's not as prevalent in the DA section, but I'm disappointed every time I drop in to the ME forums, where negative threads seem to always be on the main page, alive and kicking. It's a disease that I hope won't infect this community - though while in the BioWare forums it appears to be negativity focused inwards, Witcher forums sometimes are smeared with (intense) negativity aimed outwards, at many different games and companies that differ from Witcher and CDPR.

Yes! Bless you, sonny !

There was a time when I prefered posting on BSN, with its simplicity of design and visited Witcher forums occasionaly due to dark and fairly chaotic layout. Then... something changed.

CDPR hired people who actually knew for once how to design forums and baam - it's clear, pretty, functional, with achievements. And BSN ? It has changed, now it's massive, chaotic, with stripped functionality that made it interesting in the first place. And the people ! It hit me how small our English speaking community is on this Witcher sub-forum. We have maybe 40-50 at the same time max, while Bioware can have 600+. It's just... too crowded, too weird.

Not to mention that it's a melting pot of social justice, bronies, hardcore Bioware fanboys and waifu lovers. How the hell am I suppossed to navigate that ?

Aye, that negativity is of Biowares own making I'm afraid. Not fun for those who enjoyed their more recent offerings for sure, but that's what happens when you make Mac - go big or go home - Walters your lead writer. You should start a thread here.

It's clear the ammount of work Bioware has put on the engine and environments, BUT I thought that the world of Dragon Age was being "torn asunder" and the whole Inquisition game was about that, the destruction of it... (the devs have bragged innumerable times how awesome, creative and against-the-norm they are for "destroying the same sand-castle" they built in the first place).

So how about showing us THAT, the terrible conflict, the war, unrelentless destruction, etc, instead of this? This trailer seems like a pretty GreenPeace add...

The strength of Frostbyte is its ability to render realistic tones and atmosphere. Bioware has done a pretty good job of adapting it for DA. The scene with the bare trees and stream is particularly impressive. But it's all for naught if they can't fill the areas with life. They've always struggled with this. When I play TW2, I feel like I'm in a wholly conceived world, a living breathing environment. When I play DA or ME, I feel like I'm in a video game level.

This new trailer isn´t really showing much. You can see that many presented locations are shown more times from different angles. But I have to say incredible music. Really well done piece.
