But to EXPLAIN to us (1) what we actually mean by what we are saying, and (2) how people will react? First part is insane, second one should be either obvious for everybody with normal social development, or a surprise consistent the the plot. I have no idea what a hell Bioware are doing here, but I am not really shocked after ME3 ending.

Please link me where this is being said? the dialogues have only additional information about what you are saying but they never said it was sometimes like that, and it is optional you can just turn it off.

Edit: By the way this is something that both DA fandom and TW complain about, I actually would prefer something like TW 1 but at least now people cannot complain about the dialogue saying one thing and the PC doing other.

Eh, I don't actually mind this. Although it would just be simpler to make better paraphrases.

Apparently reading and hearing the same thing scares people away.

Paraphrasing can be done mostly OK, Mass Effect 1 never had me going WTF, but I lost count of how many times I wanted to punch Hawke in DA2 for what he said, and in just one playthrough.

Look, why a hell to have these explanations at all? Isn't it obvious that if people tend to the wounded, they are not available for an attack, because people can't be in two places at the same time? It can be turned off, sure. But why to waste resources on obvious things? If such things need to be explained to customers, I can imagine an intellectual level of a projected potential audience. Who are they making this game for? There is no hope left in me to see a normal plot in this game, if Bioware feel a need to explain obvious things. I tend not to play games made for 5-year old.

To appeal to a broader audience, of course.

I'm watching the PAX footage and when I hear that chick from the audience going "O'm'gooood" every time they cast a spell or use a special attack I think I know where that whole concept of "button-awesome" came from and who it addressed.

Wouldn't be surprised if they hired some of the audience to influence the public, the Mass Effect ending controversy has showed that Bioware has some problems responding to fan criticism :p/>

Not impressed with that combat. Looks like a graphically-superior LOTR Conquest, actually, come to think of it. Weightless fire-sword swings that sweep right through the enemy. Bioware obviously will continue to be a financial powerhouse, but when it comes to the actual quality of their games, they can't match CDPR.

Read the article, not the comment war cause I'm too old for this.

On paper, it sounds interesting. I particularly like taking over forts thing. If it's indeed an RPG mixed with strategy elements, and where it feels like a real war (not filled with incompetent morons and insane evil demons as usual), where your actions constantly affect how the war is being played out, then kewl. It would be a different experience from The Witcher, where Geralt is more or less a reactive force in his world who's primarily interested in loved ones. I would never expect bioware to portray politics or to have a story in general nearly on the same level, but actual pro-activity and impact would make it an interesting addition to my collection.

But I've already been lied to by them, so I find it hard to take everything they say at face value.

I never minded munch the short version but this was one of the primary complains with the dialogues in the fandom. And since they will not put exactly what the PC is saying this is the closest people get. They give you an options and it does not affect your gameplay experience so... I really do not see the problem here. Why complain about something you are not going to use but it is useful to other people?

When you are creating a product if you can give options to your consumers, it is always a bonus, this from an usability/design perspective. You can just play the game on hard and turn off this kind of things. I think you are making a hyperbole out of this besides I doubt many people here will be playing this so why worry about this.

I feel almost the same, I only believe what I see. I could care less what they say on articles. They most piss me off because their PR and they have no problems in lying but what I am seeing in the videos made me more excited, at least they toke the complains of the fandom seriously and brought some thing back. I think they have a really good game on their hand if they do not screw the main story.

It concerns the picks posted because they indicate an approach to story-telling as well. Bioware give an option to explain glaringly obvious things. It makes sense only if they believe a part of their customers will require such explanation. If nobody would want it, why to waste their time and resources at all? But, if a part of their projected target audience needs such an explanation for obvious options, approach to the story itself should take it into account. Otherwise this part of the target audience will complain that DAI plot is too convoluted, and they do not follow the events and dialogues. It would mean that the story in this game will have to stoop to this level, and to be extremely obvious, and simplistic, something even a child can understand. In other worlds, the exact opposite of a plot of TW2. What complexity of choices and situations should we expect if Bioware feel a need to explain what the simplest and obvious choices entail?

I always want a good story first, and the rest is pretty much secondary. When a story is written with either very young children, or not very smart adults who require explanation of simple dialogue options in mind, it is not going to be any good by my lights. Sure, it may be a great game in term of gameplay, tactical combat, and how many people and creatures of any orientation protagonist can romance. But as long as a story is too simplistic, it is not for me.

Having people cheering for things that were already on Origins and should never have gone away is a bit sad. Reminds me of Sony beating MS to pulp in the PS4 vs XBONE just by saying they weren´t doing any of MS´s idiocies.

"You can change your party's gear"

It's sad that they choose to listen to the person with the biggest mouth-to-brain ratio. They don't listen to the smarter fans and to smarter complaints. A lot of people are unable to articulate precisely what made their past experience good or not. They'll ask for more armors or a bigger world, but they won't ask for believable moral ambiguity, characters with motivation, or game and lore consistency.

Nine pages, seriously?

I can't wait for Project Eternity to kick DAI in its flaming 3D balls. At least where computer Role-Playing counts. Noone can account for bad taste.
