Not really a fan of it, makes the whole "decision" part of your, well, decisions process almost like if they had no impact in some way, I am not sure how to describe it but I feel it weakens the act of taking a decision in the game(s), like those who download "the perfect save" to import in their games, to me decisions in games have to be taken with context, not with a spreadsheet. That's what I think anyway. ^^

nah CDPR is too lazy for this they probably won't even give us a classic save game import which means our previous choices won't matter

Combinatorics is not very friendly to this idea.

As I saw Dragon age (not Inquisition), it's just a game with decisions, but it's still very linear - corridor game with some choices and script outcomes - the game is not realistic for me. If you choose A, A will happen - Witcher is completely different - just few clear decissions and more hardly predectable (or unpredectable) outcomes - that means much more work to make that properly. If you want to do that properly and count with all outcomes, they won't finish it till 2020.

It's not so hard to estimate number of possibilities (I will count just with 3 choices per game..) 3^3 ... 27 outcomes in W3, but 3 is very small number and 4 would give you 64 outcomes. And you have some options:
1) reduce those choices during game ... you will not avoid disappointment of players wchich chosed them
2) make same outcomes for several decissions ... but where will be that benefit of more choices
3) reduce impact of decissions between games ... not perfect, but I think the best choice
4) no impact on next game
5) give players "cheap style" outcomes - different, but unrealistic states of world supported with some comment, pictures etc., you have to sacrifice quality over quantity

6) ... you can add some ideas..

You don't need more context when you played the games. Let's be honest: It was just a overblown way to carry your previous decisions over to a new game without an actual savegame.

I don't think DA:Keep was developed to introduce new people to the story.

I played the games, but how am I supposed to remember everything in games I played years ago?

I work 8 hours every day and quite often 5 hours on Saturday. I don't have the time to spend on old games I don't consider to be the best of the best. Dragon Age: Origins, while a great game is not something I consider to be the best of the best. And Dragon Age 2 is a pile of poop.

Anyway, my point still stands that I don't support something like the DA Keep for The Witcher, but if there has to be something like it, the choices need more context, or it's futile for even the ones who have played the previous games.

Okay, guys, let's try and bring things back to The Witcher. You can find the Dragon Age thread in the Community subforum.

It has been confirmed that PC gamers will have save import while for console there's an in-game conversation in which you can select the choices you made in the previous installments...this option of course will be present for PC also.

Is there any benefit in importing a PC save? Are more choices imported that way? (like Genesis for Mass Effect vs proper save import)
