Drinking Thaler under the table

How do I do it? Every time I try I get my ass handed to me. You'd think having endurance 4 and +50% poison resistance would be enough. Is it linked to vitality (strength)? Do I need the heavy weight talent (I don't think so since that only helps duration)? Is it totally random and my luck sucks?

I did it easily. I drank wine (red and white) until the game ended and I won.

the best thing to use is medium based alcohol.If yoy use Strong based alcohol,be sure to loose ;D

Nothing special. One or two dots in Stamina and Strength, didn't have Buzzed or Heavyweight or anything. I either drank wine until I won or drank 4 wines then topped up with beer, I can't remember any more.(I'm on Medium, this may affect minigame difficulty)

Little Hint: Drink with him for a while, then stop doing so and drink a "Wive's Tears" potion. Then start drinking with him again - he's still drunk, you aren't.

I must admit, I don't understand the 'drinking game'. Every time I have played it, I have won, simply by drinking random drinks. I don't have any special alcohol linked talents. Is it just random (in which case, it isn't really a 'game')?

You can get the formula from one of the lumberjacks in the swamp after doing the first job for the dwarf.

if you try the previously mentioned potion (use strong alchohol, or at least thats what I did) and drink it, it automatically adds wives tears.

You don't need Wives' Tears to win vs. anyone in the whole game ...vs. Thaler:1) Have enough base stats .. at the time I had 2s in everything2) Use weak alcohol .. I used 9x Viziman ChampionAlthough I did use Wives' Tears so I didn't have to waste time staggering to the exit.
