Driver stopped working shortly after startup since 1.05

Since patch 1.05 I can't play the game. It just constantly crashes on startup or in main menu. Version 1.04 ran without any problems. Tried to solve it by turning Vsync off, switching windowed mode, installing latest beta drivers, underclocking my GPU. Right now I am desperate because I've even reinstalled my whole system and nothing helped.

My system specification:
AMD Radeon HD 6870
AMD Phenom II X4 920
6 GB RAM
Windows 7

Thx for any reactions.

Tried patch 1.06 but still the same problem. Interesting is that my sis is running same GPU and she has no problems with 1.05.

I'd try to rule out hardware failure first.
Check fan speeds and temperatures.

And try other games, or better, a benchmark.

check your driver version.... not the Catalyst you have installed, but the actual DLLs.

last week I had Win Update install some wierd ass driver for my 260x that did all kinds of wierd stuff. Rolling it back put the 15.6 cat DLLs back and everything is fine since then
