If I recall correctly some companies drop Denuvo some time down the line. One reason being that Denuvo is on licence that they would have to renew, the other is free positive publicity. "Remember that shitty DRM we introduced ourselves? Well, we removed it! Look how good we are for you, love us!"

I will buy the game if they remove Denuvo in the future, not before

The game isn't winning an award for it's narrative and writing but I truly don't understand why anyone would expect Techland to deliver a great story and narrative.

Chris Avellone was brought on board to do the story and he's an awesome RPG writer from Interplay and Obsidian (Fallout, Planescape Torment etc) but he was accused of bad stuff and they parted ways and, it seems like, removed most of what he contributed. But Techland were massively pushing the rich story and deep consequences that he was bringing to the game.
