Dynamic Crime scenes for Night City

+
After watching the 48 minute demo game play (which by the way was fantastic!), around the 17:50 mark the commentator talks about how crime in Night City is a common occurrence. I was thinking that crime scenes, as shown in the demo, could be dynamic and change through out the day. Let say a store that the player goes to for buying clothing get robbed one day, and a crime scene is created. During this scene, the player can't go inside and make purchases in this store until the scene is cleaned up.

However during the crime scene investigation, it would be cool to chat with the police officers and have a mini mission to see who was the criminal. You can side with law enforcement, or help the criminal. Depending on your street cred, you can get eddies as a reward, get new contacts, or just get new weapons/upgrades after these mini missions. After the crime investigation is over, business operations will return to normal.

I think this would be quite cool and immersive for the player. What do you guys think?

I don't wanna say that looks like batman Arkham games' detective mode, but it looks like batman Arkham games' detective mode. And I love it. I hope we have quests where we can explore the moments where shit went down and look for clues or see if someone who killed another person was lying or not about certain details.

If it's been confirmed, great. If it hasn't, I hope it gets confirmed. This would be a great addition to the game.

I hope there are car battles and car chasing not just for V but for NPC too. That was one of things that came off for me during the gameplay video. I just don't want my character to always in the center of road mayhem everytime. Also, street racing would addition to the game, especially during the nighttime... That could also be counted as a crime.

I can see these dynamic scenes very easily becoming like Fallout 4's "Another settlement needs our help" and I would not like that at all. If these are scripted quests then fine, but not something that is procedurally generated. That would suck.

hummm...

I dunno ...

1) if they put something like this , I hope it has a nice closure . Meaning , by the end of the quest you get to actually solve it . Not get some dude who goes ''Ha good work V , now let's me tell you about your next quest..no no..don't look back , that crime scene is done and over with...yeah I know , you still don't know why it happen and thats fine..I need you on something new '' ..and I'll be :  But I wanna finish it dammnit!!!

2) That it get tied to an area I may use alot...like a gun shop or clothes shop , or stim shop doesn't make me happy . Because then (a) I'm forced to do it , when I could easely just wanna buy something real quick and run off to do something real fun !

So IF and that's a big IF , something like this is made..plz..don't clog stores we need . So it be up to the player if they wanna pick it up or not .

Or better yet , make it so I can walk over the corpse..get a sandwich and walk away without triggering the quest . And it stay there until I feel like I wanna do it .

I think the issue with Preston was that be pushed the quests upon you whether you wanted them or not (I never rescue him. I run in, grab the bobble-head and leave).

Procedural quests are work if the system adds variety (it's not just kill, collect, or escort), and you don't feel like you are being forced to do them.

Well, I'm not completely heartless. I might go and and kill the raiders and the deathclaw on the way out, but after that, they are on their own.

I certainly hope this is implemented. I had so much fun with the Dreadful Crimes missions from Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.

Dynamic crime scenes or investigations would sound splendid, although I imagine it to be a bit hard to implement if they have to always consider local structures and paths in order to set up "right".

If it's too much work, I'd totally be fine with them just being there as "fluff tool" or "filler" even if you cannot get actively involved in them by "solving" or "hindering" them (unless you start shooting I guess).

Just the additional and dynamic "scenery" would be quite nice and it would add realism.

A-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y! Great idea in general to flesh out exploration! Not just recieve quests from questgivers, but you can investigate night city and find interesting things and such. I expect even more diverse and deeper sidequests and activities than W3. CDPR is one of the only developers that create worlds that feel really alive because of the stories and lore inside that world and the player's engagement with it.(And not just garbage fetch quests that exist in other open world games.)

That is a great idea... getting caught up in (or just seeing) a drive-by shooting or a mugging that actually has nothing whatsoever to do with you, particularly in the very bleary 'combat zone' areas of Night City.

I think that would depend on how well they are generated (Fallout 4 was TERRIBLE at that, turning something that should have been cool into an annoying chore)

Regardless of you kill everyone in the game. You are still labeled the "good guy" or "good girl" through it the entire game. Preston being a Re-incarnation of Nazeem from The elder scrolls Skyrim
