Someone made a really good point about the world been a little empty but maybe its just the path he took that seems empty.
Also hoping that the Griffin knocking away the sword and him pulling out the silver sword?(why wasn't he using it in the beginning) is just something made specifically for the demo. Otherwise the hunts will start to seem a little bit Formulaic.
If you pay close attention,to Geralt's right hand side after leaving meditation, you will notice a translucent pulsating circle while using the Witcher senses...there is a deer right there in between some trees below the Griffin.
It took a few replays of the demo to catch it myself. I just realized that is an auditory signal via Witcher senses of the deer. AND other creatures, wow,it was tough noticing any of this stuff during the Microsoft conference,I can now see multiple deer and a few smaller animals.
The Griffin has the pulsating red effect as an enemy and translucent "white" for animals/non-threats,maybe humans as well that are nearby. Now all they need to do is tone down the visual blood effect from the Witcher senses and I think it will be great.
About the sword - that may of been presented so they could show the cut-scene of pulling out the silver sword ( cool rune effects btw) ALSO, in the menu, when they go over the steel sword, which is a Novigradan long sword ,it says something like +5 induced silver damage.I am sure this added up to why the steel sword was used for dramatic effect building up towards the ending scene. My guess at least.
Twitch demo version was more impressive overall. The guy crawling away after being shot by the crossbow was a nice added touch of detail.Love that. The kicks, shoulder charge and elbow during combat to break guard, creating space is great. I am really liking these additions.
The enemy was low on health and dazed,I do not see the issue with it being "Overpowered". Edit* NVM. The 2 shots in a row seems to be the main complaint,I agree,a little too much right there. Other than reload times, I forgot to add that in. I agree, crossbow reloading should be slower. I'm not too fond of the 3 shot/white streaking bolts either but not that big of a deal.Reduced recoil is also a good idea.
Biggest complaint for me is it's position.I'd rather see it anywhere other than right next to Geralt's two iconic swords. visually in-game it looks fine although not looking good because of lore reasons. I am not alone on this one.
Also, exciting to hear that under water segments will play a bigger role than first expected.
Gamespot video!!! WOW. that reminded me of Vizima swamps a lot. I think the vault over the tree branch looked great. Climbing also looked better overall.I did not notice any button prompts either! I really hope this stays in the final game. Thinking that it will because Geralt uses his Witcher sense to find the climbable ledge
Another thing I see being brought up and it kinda has me perplexed - Why wouldn't Geralt be evading and sidestepping quickly!? He is a Witcher. Faster than the normal human man.Do we want to bring back roll spamming? It seems like some fans will not be happy until they are in position to change every single fucking detail to their specific liking.
Constructive criticism and being entitled to your own opinion, that's fine but some posts are outright ridiculous. Ye of little faith. The game is 8-9 months from release, it will be improved, relax. Certain comments are so negative and some posters have been consistently "negative" pre-E3 it makes me wonder why you are even here sometimes. To each their own.Everyone is different.
I don't know what some fans were honestly expecting or if anything would of made you happy.:ermm:
Also, comparing other games to the Witcher series can bring some good discussion to the forums. Outright throwing around this " this looks a lot better, this game has way better combat" blah blah blah To me,that is asking for a derogatory flame war between fans.
Geralt would tear up every single Assassin from the AC series,at the same time! :victory: :laser:
Things I liked:
- UI: needs some work but something tells me we have not seen the PC UI yet. Time will tell unless we already have confirmation. Other than that,I like it more than W2 UI from what little I've seen.Another feature I personally appreciate. The HUD fades in and out, other than mini-map,day/weather,quest and what I'll assume is the trophy buff? I saw the fiend icon and another. Not sure what that is about yet.
- Witcher senses: I'm positive they will be refined by release so no worries. I thought the aural aspect was a really neat part I wasn't even taking into consideration until I noticed animals and red blips for enemies.
I hope that the witcher senses are not over used for too many things.More so - That we are not forced into situations with no other means of solving quests or discernment in particular situations. Ideally, design wise,we should have multiple different ways to solve quests, track monsters, puzzles and so forth.I would also love a fair bit of quests and other parts of the game to include the W.S. ability, just be great if in many instances it was optional,so that we have more freedom of choice.
I will take the W.S. visual cues over floating button/mouse prompts any day of the week though. It allows a bit more freedom for exploration.I am envisioning alchemical ingredients for instance. explore around an area like crazy without using W.S. and then
if you choose, you can reveal more that you may have missed.
Seems like the witcher sense will be replacing the medallion in W3, for multipurpose use. Not saying the medallion will not be used for magic and monsters though. I only hope it doesn't make the game too easy or potentially take away from exploring and figuring things out on our own. I hate hand-holding.Nothing leads me to believe that cdpr would go in that direction.
I think the visual part should be toned down just a bit. Make it a little more subtle.I am wondering while the W.S. are activated if Geralt's in-game hearing will actually be enhanced!? not just visual blips of noise detection. I also think they both played a part on the mini-map.
The Gamespot 'Ladies of the Wood' quest video showed another aspect to the W.S. - Climbable terrain points. With no on screen " press/click to climb" prompt. I really hope this stays in. It makes it so if you do not want to use the witcher senses and go explore, finding your own route, you have the option. For those who might be time limited or tend to be impatient,They can use the W.S.- If you thoroughly enjoy the W.S. mode then it doesn't matter, use away,if you desire.
- Combat: Improved mobility. Multiple different melee animations in close to break-guard and create distance between foes.Throw in a johhny cage to the balls and im sold! joking!

lol Evasive moves and dodging I thought were great. Sure, could use some work here and there but I expect this to be polished by release.Curious what those blast sword attacks were? is that Quen related?
Dismemberment and gore. I enjoy gore and visceral displays of combat. only issue I might have is how often it occurs. I don't expect it to happen with heavily armored enemies ,not that it cannot happen but you get my point. common unprotected/weakly armored opponents I don't see no problem lopping off some heads & limbs. The issue I have is after awhile It will lose its surprise/satisfaction element. I sound like a serial killer " ehmmm dismemberment" I hope you get my meaning.
Option to have the Crossbow off his back when equipped and a slower reload time. Also, make it optional and not overpowered.
Please do not make the combat encounters too easy or oversimplified. I have never gotten this impression from the first two games,so I have confidence you wont let us down in W3. Difficulty settings aside. I'd love tactical, smart A.I. and not just increased health/damage output.
Graphics: Looked awesome.Especially since we are talking about open world here. The world looked beautiful from what I have seen so far. Best looking open world yet.
Dialogue: Loving the new and improved gestures and facial animations! That Herbalist for some reason kinda reminded me of Megan fox (don't laugh) in a good way though,Very pretty & realistic looking IMO.Prob. more than meets the eye I gather. Geralt don't do it!

I'm sure we will see more elaborate and in depth dialogues but just not yet. Might also be tough because of spoilers. Like the cinematic camera work so far, particularly in the brothel/tavern scene in Novigrad.
CDPR Devs and The Witcher series are some of the only games that create Beautiful, sexy, realistic looking woman who at the same time are strong, independent and badass. Keep up the good work! I cannot wait to see the rest of the characters you've created that inhabit this world and the *Ahem* the women .
Dislikes: Not really any. I do not have any major complaints.None that I do not think will be addressed before release. If there was one small nit pick,it would be the running animation. it looks stiff and clunky. Not horrible but needs some improvement
As others have already expressed - Please,do not dumb down or make any parts of the game too easy.
I understand some gamers might not be the greatest players but that is why there exists easy mode. Keep up the wonderful work you guys and gals have been doing, I have faith in the team. You have no idea how I wish I could play Witcher 3 this very moment. The wait is going to be agonizing :'(
