Would be...but I'm almost sure that there won't be anyting like that in-game. For dozens of huge monsters it would be very money/time consuming to implement features like that. In an interview (posted yesterday) José said that it would be cool but you won't be able to climb monsters in TW3.

I still think we might and it is a secret surprize. If not this game is still going to be the best fucking adult rpg ever made.;)

He said to be honest he does not really know because he has not even seen any monster fights him self but thinks it would be awesome as well to climb some of them. :)

Random question... Have we heard anything significant about Blade Oils & Runes?

Because I was just thinking about all this potion stuff again and realised something... If potions are being simplified, is Runes/Oils getting the same treatment? Not that I'm looking for something to bitch about again but I'm honestly wondering just because wouldn't Runes and Oils have been just as underused as Potions? On Normal mode in TW1 you could ignore Oils and TW2 you could ignore both and do just fine. If they're not getting this same simplification isn't that a little odd?
I pretty much never used Oils during my first TW2 playthrough and I hoarded my runes because I was scared of getting a new weapon 2 hours after using all my runes on my current ones (And they were super expensive to buy and crafting materials were annoying)... So why aren't Oils and Runes becoming infinite or getting drastically changed to "make people use them more"?

I dunno, just strikes me as odd if nothing is getting changed with Oils/Runes but potions are getting this unnecessary streamlining.

For the past year, I've been telling my friend with like offhanded remarks that this game is going to be the best game ever made (he's never played the witcher series). And he doesn't believe me.

He bought a Wii U and I was like NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Lol, no offense to Wii U owners. But that's the only console he wants and he doesn't pc game either, which means he can never play TW3 now. :(

Well oils share the same interface as potions and mutagenics, this leads me to believe oils will act in a similar manner.

As for runes, they seem to be a permanent upgrade (notice the upgrade slots). Again, this leads me to believe they'll be handled just like in W2. You craft runes that you can put in the upgrade slots of your weapons. Doubt they'll be infinite.

I am! Can't wait to play the game with my buddies. :)

It would be so cool if we could play the board game at Gamescom together with other Witcher fans... :p

Good points, haha.. I did the same when I played TW2 on my 360. That's funny, well tbh I don't know but I have a feeling it will be better hana in hand with the new potion system.:)

Interesting, hadn't thought to look at the UI. I guess I just feel like as if, "Fuck it", if Potions are becoming easier, why not make it all. Lots of my friends who played never bothered with Runes or Oils either so I think there's probably an argument that could be made for those features being underused just like potions. If those mechanics aren't getting some kind of treatment to make them more important and make people use them more, then it just seems like odd priorities to me.

Potions and oils were just underused if you played TW2 on easy or normal difficulty or even on hard (and probably 80% of the audience did so).

But on insane and dark mode you definitely needed potions and oils and stuff, as well as bombs and traps and just everything that could help you in combat.

Well, it looks like everything from potions to bombs will act in the same manner. I wonder if bombs are limited per fight as well, just like potions (or if indeed potions are limited per fight). Perhaps @Marcin Momot could clarify. :)

I think they'll make the runes reusable by adding an option of extracting them from swords and using them again on better weapons.

Now how you went from a simple idea to make Igni believable underwater to letting Geralt fly is beyond me.
Yea it's a video game, but these two ideas are two different levels of believability. What you just said here went off the scale.
An outward steam attack seems more believable. Remember, when it comes to video games it doesn't have to be possible, it just has to be believable.

Igni under water is thermodynamics-violating nonsense, even discounting the fantasy aspect of it. You do not produce steam when fire and water are brought in direct contact. You produce sogginess.

I don't know if that's the case with you, but this sounds like the sort of suggestion driven by a yearning to get rid of the crossbow at all costs, unaware that, of course, much like auto-refilling potions, the solution is far worse than the problem.

Underwater combat will include melee, anyway.

Igni, how it works in the game, would indeed not really make sense underwater. But, if we take into account how it works in the books, then it might be possible. I for one am against the idea of underwater Igni either way.
