E3 Discussion Thread

The only thing I want to see is real gameplay. Trailers require a lot of work and money for some eye candy but without actually showing anything new. I think they shouldn't go down the Ubisoft route with multiple fancy trailers in only a few months. They should concentrate on the game itselft instead.

But trailers are important for CDPR so more people will buy this game. They sure are glad there are corefans like us who will buy regardless of trailers or not, but it's like a movie. Most people wouldn't go watch a film without a trailer. We may not like casual players, but the more people are interested in TW3 the more money CDPR can spend on development.

They may be much work, but I'm sure some scenes are just cutscenes we get anyways. Like when they sail on the ship.

And Geralt topless, so we can finally figure out the Ratios. :p
Competely naked...

They have to think about the ladies as well. ;)

It's funny how people always complain about marketing spendings of other publishers and making fun of all the Ubisoft trailers but then, when it comes to Witcher 3, everyone is suddenly fine with a lot of trailers, a lot of marketing and a lot of stuff that doesn't really benefit the game itself but only the income of CDPR. That's double standard at its finest.
Also everyone who watches trailers on a regular basis already knows Witcher 3. Who should they reach with new trailers???

But it isn't, look how much money GTA V spent on advertisements and building high posters and billboards and it became the best selling game of the world. It isn't even as good as GTA IV in my opinion. There is no double standard, I'm sure the fans of GTA were fine with the trailers too. I wasn't complaining.

Of course I want CDPR to profit from the game. Big profits. Which they will then spend making more games. Win-win.

And we need both the trailers and the gameplay videos.

Ahem, I never said that I don't want them to earn money. Not at all. I talked about gamers, not about CDPR.

How do we need more trailers? Oh, I guess for the hype of the people who already plan to buy the game...

I don't know any solid evaluation about whether the sales for GTA V benefited by releasing a lot of trailers of not. Fact is, that GTA was already a big franchise with a huge fanbase. It's predecessor was one of the games with the highest ratings so far (9/10s almost everywhere). So one could think that the game would have sold extremely well with or without trailers. I guess we will never know for sure whether marketing costs lead to direct sales increases and actually justify the costs or not. ;)

Just like Witcher, but I agree with you. I can only have faith in CDPR that they will not let us down and the trailers give me the feeling they are on the right path to make it a worthy successor to the previous Witcher games. You may see now why I'm biased towards them spending more money on CGI, I need this until February 2015 :cheers2:

Sure, but wouldn't actual gameplay even give you a better feeling that they are on the right track? ;)

Bad News, editing up the last round of interviews, the Witcher 3's audio is bad. =( It was the busiest booth, so much background noise.

Gonna put up the Witcher 3 Interview in its entirety. I'll make up for the bad audio with a very special video after!

ok so this is probably an incredibly late remark ,but is the girl from killing monsters the same as the one in the griffin hunt demo ?

Or both? Even better...
Gameplayer video soon (taken from the E3 material, but good quality output), dev diaries soon, Platige trailer just before Gamescon - that's what I'd LOVE to see.
Yes,
But No.. no.. no.. no.. dev diaries!! It will come with the game no spoilers!!

I love that picture of Geralt with Mario that they've been using. Geralt looks as though he can't quite decide what to make of him.
I wonder if EA or Bioware will make a big publicity thing of winning the PS3/Xbox 360 awards?
:hmm:
