Agreed. Most developers create cinematics in a gameplay demo like this which are never intended to be part of final play (but most viewers take what they see as 'literal proof of what will be in the final product'. This is usually where discrepancies and misunderstandings arise.I think it was all animations created for the demo after the Griffin knocks Geralt's sword away, i.e. not how it's going to be in the final game.
Oh yea that was on the counter attack. Pretty coolIt's when he fights the bandits, look closely.![]()
They had a limited demo window. You and I both know that showing him aimlessly wandering the world would have been negligent on the developer. Exploration is expected, but they had to show features and talk about mechanics. With upcoming information about the game itself, we'll be better able to piece together a feature set before the game is released.I am saying that they should have released a video showing controlled gameplay instead of the sword of destiny, if they wanted to show gameplay. Their choice to go like this was a bad one, especially when RPGs tend to not have good gameplay showings.
A stroll around the huge city would be MUCH more interesting to show the details of the world and the expanse space. Like I said, they still have a lot to learn.
I hope you understand what I mean now.
I agree about the small window, which is why, in my opinion, they should have never showed anything running in real time like that. A 3 minute pure gameplay trailer would have much better impact. They had a limited demo window. You are right but the gameplay shown was at such a fast pace that it focused on the more janky parts like the combat. They had a limited demo window. Yeah I get what you mean. But it is very hard to choose a good gameplay moment when you have only 5 min for showing.I am saying that they should have released a video showing controlled gameplay instead of the sword of destiny, if they wanted to show gameplay. Maybe because they were focused with the main story and the content of the open world aspect? It obviously will be fixed. They still haven't nailed the running animation as it seems. It's kind of awkward and somewhat rudimentary compared to e.g. AC or GTA games. The rest is alright, especially the dialog part and as been said it felt rushed.
I hope that's not all the gameplay we'll see at E3.
I don't disagree with their intentions, but they didn't actually show us what that's like. The side quest was badly edited and the griffin fight had no pointers or commentary on the action. Also, it cut to a cutscene when it was starting to become interesting.Yeah I get what you mean. But it is very hard to choose a good gameplay moment when you have only 5 min for showing.
I think they want to show us some key features of the game like the hunt for legendary monsters and events like the deserts killing helpless people where you can decide to help or not.
Exactly, what I was thinking, do you read in minds manI hope that the combat is not final, as it's seems very similar to Witcher 2 which wasn't really dynamic and please tone down the gore a bit, the body slicing in half was really over exaggerated and didn't fit to the game at all.
Good question, maybe it drops feathers or such when flying away or does not leave until you wound him?I wonder what would have happened if Geralt didn't use his crossbow on the Griffin and it also flew away.
No blood trace to follow even with witcher senses.
So what do you want them to do with combat?Exactly, what I was thinking, do you read in minds man? I understand that they show off gore and limps slicing for newcomers.
But, I grown with this series and I must confess the more I play the fewer, let`s call them 'immaturities(comicbookness?)' I am willing to tolerate. I just hope they will make good on thier promise of delivering a mature game.
