EA refuses to refund and threatens ban

The free games... is there anybody who would want any of those who wouldn't already have them?

Doesn't affect me, but I wouldn't be appeased, I guess auto gifting their next big release would hurt their pockets in an unacceptable way, but *that* would've turned it around. Or refunds of course.

1 million copies... hmmm... wouldn't be the first time in the entertainment industry a producer bought up their own trash to make it look successful

Does anyone have a link to the sales figures for Sim City 4? The only one I could find quickly was this:

Just under 300,000 copies, retail only, in 2007, i.e. several years AFTER launch. Somehow, I don't think that 1m at launch will be seen as a good number, so my guess is that the two reports are very closely linked. That does NOT read like a voluntary resignation.

Probably not. He was probably "encouraged" to step down. That far up the corporate foodchain, blatant firings are uncommon.

And that's probably why he needs to go. That level of disconnection from the real world can't be good for anyone.
