Easter Egg hunt 2011

The Easter Egg Hunt is very common in many cultures, nations and… the Northern Kingsdoms and the Witcher forum as well. We don't know about Nilfgaard, but that's not our business. With the Easter Egg Hunt we also want to test a new skill path: Scout. You, our dear Community members, can prove yourself as Scouts. If you successfully pass the test, we will… *ahem* we will decide about that later.Your Task:We have hidden two types of eggs somewhere in our forums, in random posts. There are big and small eggs. You must find them, keep silent about your discovery, and at the end of the hunt you send the results of your search via Personal Message to our Easter Bunny moderators:
  • secondchildren
  • Corylea
  • Tommy
  • Petra Silie
Don't post your results in this thread, because that will spoil the contest! If you do, you will be disqualified.Your Easter Egg Hunt Log:As a proof that you have found an Easter egg, make a note of the URL of the post where you found the egg. Collect as many links as you can and send them all to a moderator when the hunt is over.Egg Ratings:All Easter have different amounts of points. There is no system. You may find Easter Eggs which have a value of 16, 23, 9, 19, 44 or 36 points. The highest value is 50 points. Eggs with a high value are rare whereas there are more eggs with a low value. And there is only one "Super Easter Egg" which rewards the finder with 100 points. The winner is whoever earned the highest point total. We will award prizes to 1st place and 2nd place winners.Prizes:
  • 1st place receives the marvellous presskit "Hands on The Witcher 2" (Unpacking review 1, Unpacking review 2) with (amongst others) the rare same named t-shirt.
  • 2nd place receives the Geralt action figure, a nice goodie which was available for the Witcher 1. The winner therefore owns a real treasure.
.Start and ClosingThe Easter Egg Hunt [moderator]starts on Sunday, 24 April at 0.01 a.m. GM[/moderator]T and ends o[moderator]n Tuesday 26 April at 11.59 p.m[/moderator].When the hunt is finished, then you send your final hunt results to a Bunny moderator. Closing date for sending in your results is Thursday, April 28. When everything proceeds without complications we will announce our 2 winners on Sunday, May 1.Questions? If you have any questions before the hunt starts or during the hunt, don't hesitate to ask. The Easter Bunny moderators will glady help you.

So, are you telling to me that I'm going to spend my whole saturday searching for egg pictures in every corner of this forum in the vain hope I will be rewarded with a shirt and some merchandising?I love it!Some questions: the eggs will be in any thread of this forum, in any page/post? also in the polish one? every egg will be an image?

Oh my, the forum will be soooo sloowwww, because everyone is gonna crawl through every underbrush of every board, lol.Great idea, and I could use a new t-shirt. :)))Thanks to all the Easter Bunny Moderators! Will those eggs all pop up at midnight and stay put for the whole time, or do they get hidden one by one over the course of the 3 days?

It does sound like that's your plan, yes. :) MM360 is providing the prizes, so they'll be real prizes from CDPR, not stuff that we moderators have made.
Some questions: the eggs will be in any thread of this forum, in any page/post?
Yes, any page or post. Some of us may place the eggs in old posts that we remember fondly; others of us may hide them in completely random spots, just to mix it up. :)
also in the polish one?

We will be editing OLD posts to add eggs to them. Your International forum moderators aren't cleared to edit posts in the Polish section of the forum, so there won't be any of our eggs in the Polish forum. I don't know if the Polish moderators are having an Easter Egg hunt of their own or not. :)

Yes, the eggs will be images. They'll be pretty obviously Easter eggs.

The goal is to hide all of them tonight, in time for the start of the hunt on Saturday at 12:01 GMT. But there are NO points for speed! The winner is the one who finds the eggs with the highest point total by the end of the contest, not the one who finds them the fastest.

That sounds fun :DSince speed does count, what if there is a draw? how do you decide who should win?

Speed doesn't count. We only draw when there are 2 winners who have the same total score. I doubt this will happen.Right now the forums have 677641 posts. this may scare you off cause it looks like looking for a needle in the haystack which is quite discouraging. But the Easter Bunny moderators aren't spiteful and give you hints during the hunt.

Oh, I wasn't about speed, just wanted to know if eggs are gonna turn up at places where you already looked. :)And giving a starting shot would be cool. Because of the different time zones and people getting confused... ;)

My understanding was that it started at 12:01 GMT, which is 1.75 hours from now?I'm certainly not going to have all my eggs hidden by four minutes from now.Yeah, we'll announce the kick-off. It sounds like we haven't synchronized our watches properly, so we'll go do that. :)

Sorry to ask if it was answered how do we give results? Do we give the link to where we found the egg. Or the name of the thread and page?

When the contest i over, make a note with a list of the link to the found eggs. Then send the note to us-bunnies... er... moderators. We'll do the maths for the final score.GL

And ... the contest has begun. If we counted correctly, we hid 48 eggs, all around the International forum. Good luck!

The forum page URL. If you click at the top of a post, you get a URL for that specific post, rather than for the thread in general, and that's what we're looking for.For example, if you click on the "Posted on April 22" at the top of this post, you'll see that the URL of this post is http://tw2.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=32386.msg5503376#msg5503376.
