EAX/Blur Hotfix problems

New Witcher here, have only played the prologue but its looking a cracker of a game so far.Bit puzzled about whether I need to download a patch. I have the Witcher Enhanced DvD, a lovely boxed set. I have version 1.4.5.1280. When I launch the game ‘Check for Updates’ is glowing. Clicking on here tells me to download the 1.4 Patch? But I am already on a version after that?I also see Bonus content and New Adventures on the downloads page, would they already be in my version or do I need to download them?

unfortunately this 'hotfix' screws up sound entirely.. apparently the devels are pretty incompetent and even though they updated the mss dll that's in the system folder, they forgot to update all the files in the Miles folderi've reinstalled the game twice and the sound worked perfectly before installing the hotfix each time but after i installed it, the sound in the bik/intro movies started cutting out randomlyit's between getting the blur fixed and the movies fixed huh? :wall:

actually since it works fine for me and others with these 'old' files, i guess they did a good job ]:->now, the only thing that does not get updated is the Miles/mss32.dll file ( you can copy the newer file from Witcher/system/mss32.dll over it ), but that file is not loaded during gameplay, only the other files in the Miles folder areread: Getting tech help on the forum and attach that PCWizard report as instructed ( use the older version of PCWizard if you have problems with the newer one )read the FAQ: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=17503.0 ( try some of those tips )

I have the same 'installation not correct' problem - and I will b3e damned if I reinstall the witcher and EE files again - pople say it as though it's a 5 minute job! People should be infuriated that they need a reinstall! Someone needs to tell us why it thinks the installation is wrong and how to fix it - not just offer the longwinded reinstall option! Grrrr!

That's why you do not even look into our PCWizard files? Your fix is not compatible with many systems, savvy?

i look into every report/crash log, my answers come as i have time to cover all issues and all usersoh, and BTW, this is not MY fix :witchmas:

Thanks.

same problems under gentoo.. i'll just wait for an update.. until then CSS :ps: polish + russian game programmers suck (im russian so i can say shit).. STALKER was glitchy as fuck.. Witcher was/is glitchy.. :wall:

I bought TWEE US Version. And I installed game :"EE DVD+Blood Revival Patch+EAX Hotfix". When I tried to start the game, a dialogue box showed up says: Please insert WITCHER ENHANCED DVD! But the disc was right there in my DVDROM!!! I reinstalled game again and this problem is still there!PS: My opinion is there's something wrong with that EAX Hotfix. Because if I installed game without it (EE DVD+Blood Revival Patch). It worked fine.I believe you guys'll fix it soon ;D

try to run TAGES again, once to uninstall, and again to reinstall itif it does not help i'm afraid the only known fix would be a reinstall

sorry mate, i'm seeing so many reports that i can't track them all now, what sound driver are you using? from nVidia or Cmedia ?

Hello, I bought the game (The Witcher EE) from Steam one week ago and I am still waiting EAX and Blur patch to come to Steam, I have problems with EAX on my PC. I ask Steam Support about this and they said CDPR must give them patch files (they can't release the patch without CDRP's permission) then they will release it. Also I know maybe retail patch can be installed on Steam version of the game but I don't want to do that because all of my Steam games are getting updated automaticly. Blood patch came to Steam quickly after the release I know this too from my friend but this patch didn't came, yet. I am waiting reply from Atari support too with this issue. Anyway please send patch files to Valve.I have also one question I got the CD-Key after the bought. What can I do with this CD-Key? I can play game without it and game never asked me to type it. Thanks for the answers and keep up the good work.
