try the older version of PCWizard too, not in Safe Mode anywayrun as Administrator and suchthere is no backup list for the fixyou could copy the game installation as a backupThreesixtyci said:I finally got some freespace on my HDD to try this again... (I just bought and installed a 160gig HDD, in other words.)I'd like to know what files or directory do I back up for the hotfix.... So, that I can revert back without having to do 3 hours of re-installing, if I still get skipping sounds during the FMV's. I really don't want to try this hotfix again and find out that my same problem with skipping sound during the FMV's did not resolve after doing a complete reinstall.... that I've just done.BTW: that PC wizard doesn't work in Safe mode, and still hangs on my PC.... I imagine it's because I have an odd ball motherboard. It's a Chaintech VNF4 Ultra... I believe it's the second and last motherboard Chaintech ever made. DXdiag text is all that I can give...DXdiag info: The Creative Live! card is disabled, I only keep it plugged in so I can use my obsolete Flightstick Joystick and rudders.... for Falcon AF and such.
you don't need extra codecs in the system ( in general ), well, at least using players like Media Player Classic Homecinema, VLC or SMplayeri don't install any video codecs except: Xvid, X264, Quicktime and Real Alternativesi'd recommend to uninstall all added codecs, clean registry with CCleaner and rebootretry the gameThreesixtyci said:Nope, still freezes at Sensors, then the green bar just stops. And I can't end task the program. Am forced to kill the power, whenever I try that program. And the hotpatch still gives me erratic sound during the opening.....

Hi i read it but does not help. I don't even know why the topic i posted is merged with this one since it's not really related as it's not a hotfix problem or anything....anyway, my current TWEE version is 1.4.5.1280 and yes i've read the site you referred to me and yes i understand that it's the same as 1.4.5.1282, BUT i want to patch it to 1.4.5.1303 and i can't find the patch anywhere. I checked the site and it doesn't have anything else other than the patch to upgrade The Witcher to the Enhanced Edition, as well as the EAX hotfix which i've installed already and lastly the Blood removal patch. That's it, nothing else. And lastly, are there any addons or mods i can download? Or are there mod tools available? And i don't mean using tools like Djinni Adventure editor or anything, i mean mods by other people, i.e 3rd party mods that make life hella easier when playing the game. E.g. are there any inventory mods that show a bigger icon for each item? Because it's really hard to identify each item if you have too many quantities of each of them, say if you have 50 of each item then your inventory will look really compacted and compressed and it's hard to read them. If you don't understand what i mean, try using a trainer, u can find those easily from sites like www.gamecopyworld.com and most The Witcher trainers have the option to set all your items in your inventory to 255 quantities. Try that and see what i mean. Of course, i'm not cheating or using any trainers, well i have but i'm not right now but it's just the text for the items are really hard to read and especially when you have heaps of quantities, it's even harder to see. And the icon sizes are small as well. So ya i was hoping for a mod that can solve this........and if anyone can recommend any other good mods that'll be awesome too, thanks.LicaonKter said:read the FAQ: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=17503.0LicaonKter said:Hi guys I've installed The Witcher Enhanced Edition and got everything working fine but my current version is 1.4.5.1280 and i want to update it to 1.4.5.1303 but i can't find the patch anywhere on the official website or on Google, where can i download it??

did you use any sort of EAX fix before the official hotfix?read: Getting tech help on the forum and attach that PCWizard report as instructed ( use the older version of PCWizard if you have problems with the newer one )what game settings?alexn883 said:Hi guys, It seems that the EAX/Blur HotFix doesn't work for me either. I have The Witcher Enhanced Edition DVD Retail version, and when I install the Hotfix, it says that the installation was succesfull, but when i run the game, It doesn't play movies anymore. I see only a black screen with sound in the background, like seems to happen to others users as well. But the worse come when i tried to play the game anyway, I discovered that the Blur glitch wasn't fixed either!! I have tried all the tips posted before, reinstall game+fix, uninstall codecs, clean registry, but seems that there is no way to make it work. Btw, It will be great if the team decide tu launch a HotFix for the BLUR EFFECT ONLY.

---PcWizard Report attached----The exact game settings I use are the following:Anisotropic-Filtering 16xAnti-aliasing 4xLightining Quality HighTexture Quality HighShadow Quality HighGrass Quality HighDecals Fade LongDepth of Field ActiveVisibility Range Far Small Animals Numbers ManyResolution 1680x1050 FullscreenI forced Vsync through Ati control panel, and forced anisotropic too to disable some pixelated glitch in characters during cutscenes, but after applying the HotFix, I have restored all the setting like listed above, withouth forcing anything, and the problems persisted anyway.LicaonKter said:attach what i've asked youexacly what game settings do you useand if you force anything through your video card control panelLicaonKter said:No, i didn't use any sort of EAX fix before applying the official one, and I will never do. Yup i tried that and it says it's running 1.4.5.1280. I've installed the EAX hotfix 2.3 already and it works, before i installed it, when i tick the EAX option under Sound, it crashes my game everytime. After installing it, i can tick it and it does work, i.e i can hear the difference in sound after enabling it. So ya i did install it properly it's just it's still showing 1.4.5.1280. Meh i guess it doesn't really matter, i just wanted to try out something that only works for the newest version as it doesn't work on my current one.LicaonKter said:EAX/blur hotfix is version 1.4.5.1303 ( run in Window mode by unchecking Fullscreen in the game menu, the window title shows your game version )mods and info: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?board=87.0complete adventures: http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/adventures/LicaonKter said:anyway, my current TWEE version is 1.4.5.1280 and yes i've read the site you referred to me and yes i understand that it's the same as 1.4.5.1282, BUT i want to patch it to 1.4.5.1303 and i can't find the patch anywhere.
