Echinops contract problem

Hi, I picked up this game after a huge break, and I seem to be encountering an oddity.I'm trying to complete the "Echinops contract" (because I want to complete every quest I can), and I have had the Echinops entry in my bestiary since forever. However, whenever I kill Echinops in the swamps or caves, they never leave remains at all. Any idea what's going on? Couldn't find info about this by googling. Sorry if it's something that's been asked to death! Thanks

Sometimes ,but not very often this happens even though you have the entry in the bestiary they won`t give up anything until you read a book on them.

In my experience Echinops often leave remains that for some reason don't get LABELED "remains," the way other monsters' remains do. If you go to the corpse and hover your cursor over it, often it will change to the "use" cursor, even though it doesn't have a label.I also find that the Echinops corpses sometimes leave remains a few beats after other monster corpses do. So if I kill a Drowner, it changes from a live Drowner to a serving of Drowner brains pretty much instantly. But for the Echinops, it seems like the battle ends, wait a beat, wait another beat, wait a third beat, and THEN there are Echinops parts.

Actually, I've noticed this too. Although if you tilt the camera view upwards a bit, you'll see the "Remains" text hovering way above the corpse where the top of the plant was when it was fully erect.

What also helps is using your Clrl key that will give you the pop up of part too I'm sure you did this but I find ppl miss this part sometimes It helps if you read up on Echinops that way your odds on getting part a much grater

The same goes for Archespores and other vine monsters.
