Edgerunners 2 theory

I've seen many speculate frames like these are from blackwall hacks, likely caused by Rogue AI carried by D, the main character?

and to me it seems to be intentional color choice. Also we see characters from climbing over the piles of dead bodies

And there's abandoned looking structure where turrets or cameras or something of the sort (not targeted toward person) get hijacked with blackwall hacks

And there's Maelstrom also either in charge or left with responsibility to defend something.

This all brings back to the original Cyberpunk 2077 where we witness Maelstom performing ritual to bring forth Lilith. From what is learned from lore in the game, Lilith is a powerful rogue AI from beyond the Blackwall.

Going back to the first picture I feel like the hacks are purely accidental and there's something that got extracted from Maelstrom's base that was highly contagious and dangerous and near impossible to control (that's why in CP expansion there's only 2 characters who are able to really control Black Wall hacks, unless you of course discount the dialogue with (Rogue AI warning not to interfere).

So my theory is that these people, the main cast of our regrettable heroes get in trouble where they uncover Lilith being brought into the real world from beyond the Blackwall, or some kind of blackwall hacking tool, and this would mean they become targets for the Rogue AI. Maybe their friends got thrown to the pile and were going to get sacrificed but was saved just in time.

We can see the cars with no drivers instantly changing course from being regular robot taxies (or automated personal vehicles driving from place to place) suddenly being taken control and directed toward the black haired male. Either he's causing them to initially go haywire or maybe they are doing it in behest of someone else, and the guy is merely staying alive due to the implant (I would assume) helps to shield him from harm.

Maybe he's carrying Rogue AI in his head? Or at least some kind of link to real world via Cybernetic? That would make the Rogue AI to act in self defense, while also due to it's chaotic nature just cause destruction everywhere due to it being hard to control... Or maybe his survival is just purely accidental, hard to tell really from 1 example...

Maelstrom treats Cyberware and technology almost as a religion, where maintaining fleshy body is considered a sin (Kinda resembles religion of Catharism, where any kind of earthly matter is considered sinful, and only the spirit is considered pure, but in a very corrupted cyberpunk version of that faith). So any kind of disruption of rituals that uses bodies as hosts for Rogue AI to manifest, would mean you're committing the wrongest of all sins and you become target.

There's some kind of ritual being performed like in base game, and it seems to at least partially open the gates for these hacks to start appearing, and since they're the only ones to know about the source of it, they become targets for everyone, including non-maelstrom citizens.

Also it seems like these people are contacted by Voodoo Boys who during gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 were having this glitch effect on their faces, them wanting to stay hidden.

During game there were agents trying to kill the Voodoo Boys and stop them from trying to reach beyond blackwall.

So it seems like the party gets put in between all of this where they remain key trigger for the whole city to suddenly become infested with Viruses, and maybe something they carry is the key to stopping this, putting basically everyone on hit-list. Only ones to stay neutral and offer some guidance would be voodoo boys who remain sympathetic to people who have reached or try to reach beyond blackwall.

I didn't see any sign in the trailers but I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Blue Eyes would appears in last episode not to really do anything, but to indicate that there's no way for individual act to save Night City, and there's far too many bigger events happening same time. It's just not Lilith, but it's all the demons are trying to get out.

In this frame you can see main character D being pointed in large screen, like as fugitive from law, and screen audio probably asking anyone to report for the location or confront them, this seems to be in apartment complex. In fact many of the characters in trailers seem to be escaping something.

I would assume this has to do with trying to get highly qualified scientist to operate on D and to remove the Rogue AI, which they have to highjack because any means of communicating or payment would be tracked to them. Of course this could be related to the other scene where one of their friends escapes from the car with door opening revealing a pool of blood, this imagery seems to indicate urgency so I would bet this is due to the latter reason, and they're simply trying to rescue their friends.

But in case this is due to the D's symptoms, this would indicate there's something that's possible to remove from the body, perhaps not normally possible, like damaged chip, similarly how V got the relic trapped in his head after getting shot in the head, the damage on brain triggered the relic release it's repair chemicals and start to overtake the body. But instead of Johnny, D will likely inherit Rogue AI inside him.

In here we see same kind of assassins from Maelstrom probably coming after their property. I don't think they would normally engage in open space so this must be important for them.

Another evidence that there's going to be a some link to Mr Blue Eyes, this is exact same kind of scenery that happened in Original Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, where Mr Blue Eyes (before getting blue eyes) was just drinking in some private airplane or at least a regular plane in luxury seat and sipping a drink, when he saw next guy getting burned from being hacked.

I think this season 2 will be more of a transition between Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk Orion where original was from what happened before first game.

So my predictions just based on speculation:
* Rogue AI is going to be major part of the season
* Maelstrom want it, whether it's theirs or not
* Because it's rogue AI, so does everyone else too want it, either to protect from it or use it
* Voodoo Boys probably going to appear in 2-3 episodes
* At least the main guy gets put in most wanted list (dead or alive)
* Mr Blue Eyes shows up in later episode(s)
* The Rogue AI trapped in D's head likely will have goals of it's own to wreak havoc on human world, targeting the largest corporations, likely there will be dialogue like Light Yagami had in Death Note with the Shinigami.

And btw the Trailer Song is: Rico Nasty - You Can't Run From Me

Opinions? Other observations?
