We see Lucy riding in the moon shuttle/bus.
We see Lucy walking away from the camera toward the Earth, she reaches out.
Closeup on her helmet, mirrored visor reflecting the Earth, her hand and some of the lunar landscape.
For a brief second, we see David's outstretched hand touching hers.
We see her face inside her helmet, she smiles.
Camera zooms out a bit and we see that she's pregnant.

But I think that would just make it worse that David selfishly got himself killed before he could make a family that he'll never see.

A large part of why I think this ending is so powerful is David could have avoided it if he'd quit a few days earlier and maybe Lucy had been less inclined to jump the gun to Synapse Burnout as a solution.
