EE patch problem and start up problem

hi everyone,

I bought the game yesterday and just installed it a few hours ago. I downloaded the 36 part of EE but the part 2 is corrupted. I have redownloaded it about 7-8 times now but every time I check it it keeps saying corrupted. (I did delete the old one each time I downloaded it again).

Also when I double click the shortcut to start the game simply nothing happens. Nothing at all. I have tried disabling my antivirus (Kaspersky internet security 2012) but it doesnt help.

My specs are:
Windows 7 home edition 64bit
CPU: I5-2500
8gb ram
460GTX

Anyone any idea what I could try now? I simply cant get patch 2 to download without it beeing corrupted it seems.

See this forum, I believe it can help you. Basically you'll need to delete both the corrupted file and the patcher. Also it wouldn't hurt if you check the MD5s:

I've been doing exactly that. Checked all the files it's number 2 that's corrupted. I delete 2 and the patcher. Redownload them and each time patch 2 is corrupted. tried it 9 times now

Delete TW2EE_Patch.exe and TW2EE_Patch2.bin then clear your browser cache . Click the launcher or predownloader and let redownload the files and recheck the the MD5`s

Just did it twice on both Opera and Internet explorer, deleted the ones I had cleared the cache on both browsers, redownloaded. And checks it as corrupted again...

You can try getting patch 2 from the link . Did the TW2EE_Patch.exe verify ok

just tried it from that link, same thing. patch 2 is always corrupt. The launcher gets through every time tough, that one is ok. It's only patch 2 that is corrupted

Did you use CCleaner or similar program to clean the browsing history ?

no simply the clear cache buttons and clear cookies etc from both opera and IE

Would you mind to try CCleaner to see if it makes any difference at all . It will clean all browser history at one time .

just used CCleaner and retried. Same result, the patcher gets through without a problem. But patch 2 is still corrupted

well I tried again today and still nothing. Part 2 keeps beeing corrupted. I tried from our second computer here at home and it's the same problem. I have no idea what to do with this
