[ENDING SPOILERS] Expensions Question

Hi,
I just beat Witcher 3 and I got the ending where Ciri becomes a witcher and Geralt lives with Yen now and I was wondering if ant of the next two expansions will include Ciri storyline based on what ending you got or will the expansion story be the same regardless of what ending you got?

The expansions will be about Geralt and will probably not interact with the ending.

I really hope that's not the case, so many questions left about what's going to happen to Ciri, especially in the "Emperor Ciri" ending :-/

yea i really want more Ciri storyline, maybe even a guest appearance in the dlc but just to tell us whats going on with her!

They've said that the expansions will occur before the ending. They've also said that characters both new and old will show up in Blood & Wine, so hopefully Geralt's cast plays a role. That said I'm wagering that if there's going to be a new game set in the Witcherverse, Ciri will be protag and Witcher ending will be canon. Having daughters take over the protagonist role from their badass fathers seems to be the fashion nowadays if Dishonored 2 is any indication.

It makes no sense whatsoever to have Blood and Wine during the game.

They won't be after the game and besides, I want Ciri to stay as far from Emhyr as possible since she's Witcher Ciri in my games and hates Niflgaard.

Why exactly?

Just gonna repost my post from another thread:

Well tbh at least for the Toussaint DLC the only real choice is post ending. Why would Geralt head to Toussaint which is like at least a months ride away just for the fun of it while searching for Yen or Ciri and spend weeks there (judging by the theoretical size of the DLC 30 hours or so it has to be in game weeks) for fun? Especially because it is indicated where Ciri has been and that the war never came to Toussaint? And before the beginning of the game? Seriously? Vesemir and Geralt have been on the hunt for 6 months. Before that it was probably winter so they would have spend at least 3 months in Kaer Morhen... 9 months before the main story?

Not plausible. Especially since a DLC would make the state of the endgame much easier for CDPR to develope if you are with Yen you could simply have a small area off somewhere with a nice little hut and Dandelion and Zoltan visiting. It wouldn't require the impossible task of changing the rest of the world to a proper endgame setting. The same is true if you move in with Triss. If Geralt ends up alone you can simply put him in Kaer Morhen.

The glassman DLC will probably take place during the game simply because you meet the guy in White Orchard... strong hint there.

And before you start with: but Triss or Yen could teleport him:

That would just be daft. Why would Yen be interested when she is even willing to kill an entire orchard, ressurect a corpse and what not to find Ciri to prevent some shite in Toussaint that has no bearing on Ciri? Furthermore why would Triss be? She's a fugitive in Novigrad, helping other fugitives, is responsible for their safety and basically their contact to the king of beggars and also worried about Ciri? Storywise it makes no sense whatsoever. None of the girls would go to Toussaint while Ciri is still out there somewhere and none would leave their tasks for it. If it takes place after you find Ciri it's even more stupid because you have other things to do. Sorry but it just doesn't make sense.

Very good points. I hope that one of the DLCs will be in the "post" game world, which actually does not exist, tbh. But Toissant DLC is 20 hrs long, not 30. I also hope that Triss, Yen and Ciri will make an appearance in the DLCs.

Lol, when they finally release annouced expansions, most of the people has already passed the game so why they need to make DLCs BEFORE ending? I mean, if it will be available after ending, then good.

Because there's three different endings and they don't want to do 3 times the work given how radically different the endings are?.

Obviously like always, at least most of us are sure we can expect Dandelion will be there. Since he is the story teller in all of this.

Depends of what they want to include in DLC. You think it will be connected with the storyline?

I'm inclined to think it'll be a self-contained storyline that will have a limited tie-in to the main story.

Geralt finds times to solve murders by monsters.

He can find time to teleport to Toussaint and unravel the plot of whatever is going on there.

About the only thing we can be certain of is his ex-girlfriend Fringella will probably be there.

Would Fringella be there? Isn't she being held captive by Nilfgaurd until the end of the story?

She is but it's kind of ridiculous that a character who is so intimately tied to Toussaint and Geralt wouldn't be there.

It's like visiting Alderaan without Bail or Leia.

Honestly I dont think this would require different states... at all.
Maybe some depending on who you chose or didnt choose as a lover. Nothing more needs be touched much.
