Well the origin of that name has been lost in time, but actually it's just taken from a soda that I was embarrasidly fond of when I was a kid.

STOP!!!!just stopam i to deduct that the ee patch will use different actors for the voices ? (ie: geralt is voiced by a new actor ??)if that is the case, that's INSANE... did the original actor die ??? ..or just want more $$ ??

Are you asking about the English Version's Geralt or the German Version's Geralt? The English voice actor stayed the same (and rightly so, as he's absolutely fantastic, in my humble opinion). The German Geralt ... well that's another thing. Look at the youtube links provided on the first page. His dialogue has been re-recorded and the voice is now far deeper - in my opinion more appropriate. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think this one is a new actor and not just the old one speaking reaaaally deep.

okay now I heard the new german voices and I am twisted. The MOST NPCs are great, they took some voice actors from soups like "Smallville", but...and here is the other side:Geralts voice is lame, he talks veeery slow now and he has no emotions..... :'(

The voice of Lambert was changed!WHY!?!?So sad... :'( The old Lambert was more sharp-tongued imho. The voice actor for Berengar and Lambet was the greatest. :)

Well... i´m a bit incertain here. I am really not sure whether I should like the new voice of Gerald or not. I was fine with his old voice, he always seems to be a bit sarcastic and annoyed. The new voice is okay but at last it is just a deep "uuuh, look at me... i´m a tough swordmaster"-voice. But maybe i should give it a chance and play a while until I make my final judgement. It is a bit like a new voice actor replacing a familiar voice in a tv show, yo just have to geht used to it.However - the other voices are a complete different story and imho CDP did a very good job. Old women sound like real old women now, the most voices actually reflect the mood of the speaker and thankfully kids sound like kids now. I always wondered what the !\$§! the responsible people thought when they decided to give a 6 year old kid the voice of an 16 years old chainsmoker.

I do not know if this is the topic to post in, but in my humble opinion, the voice acting, each and every one of them, is one of the main attractions of this game. I've been trying to find who the English actor is that voice Geralt, but he is superb! He has the perfect balance of strength that I would imagine in a Witcher coupled with a warmth that I imagine in Geralt specifically; I'm so glad that you've expanded Geralt's dialogue.I've been playing computer games since the late 70s, and this is the first time I've posted an opion. Kudos to all involved in the development of this game; you've perfected the art and I look forward to your future projects (I would LOVE to see Elric of Melnibone developed by you!!!).

Moinmoin, German Gerald's new voice is very, very good! But in my opinion some of the other voices (e.g. Bocksfleisch, Jethro, etc.) are not as good as they were in the original version. And sometimes the dialogues in the ee just don't make any real sense. Nevertheless I like the new game sooooooo much. :)

The Witcher has the best voice-acting of any game to date, Good dialogue and music and EE1.4 works good. Superb game.Geralt is Elric, basically, without Stormbringer. I have no idea how Stormbringer could be modded into the game. But, Aerondlight is a mighty fine sword in it's self.
