Well, since CDPR is both developer and publisher, they can take as much time as they need to get it right.

Hence why absolutely no one is complaining about the "when it's done" bit at the end of the trailer.... whatever it takes to be perfect.

Oh, I would like to be able to name my weapons.

Not just because it will aid in remembering what weapon customised for what task, but also because I am superstitious and I think named weapons are lucky.

"This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...

My rifle and I know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...

My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...

Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.

So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!"

My rifle's name is Charlene.

One of my favorite things about WRPG's over the years is how upgrades have become visible on the player. That's one of the many reasons I never cared for most JRPG's. I like having a visual sign of "oh yeah, I've come pretty far since the beginning of those 60 hours" and modified equipment and weapons do that very well. It's basically another layer of visual gratification; I mean we all love seeing what that newest set of armor or sword/gun looks like.

C'mon, man; swordguns are TOTALLY the territory of JRPGs.

Duh, that's because the Pen-Gun is mightier than the Sword-Gun...

About a min into this video it gets to the juicy weapons upgrade menu and you can see the different upgrades applied to the weapon. CDPR promised a huge arsenal and I hope they are all up-gradable, this video gives the idea justice. worth a watch if you are unfamiliar with the weapon system in saints row 3.

The upgrade system, as implemented in Saints Row 3, was a trainwreck.

If you upgraded your weapon, that was it; you were stuck with it, and couldn't trade off parts. Also, the way they went about it was less-than-ideal, imo. Apparently, if you were carrying a weapon, you were carrying ALL POSSIBLE UPGRADED VERSIONS of the weapon on your person; just as you upgraded, it "unlocked" the next tier, and changed the model displayed on your character. As a result, it ate up in-game memory resources that could've been used for greater vehicle or character customization. (At least, that's how the Volition reps explained it to us in the SR forums.)

I just like how the weapons appear when you upgrade them. you can see the upgraded weapons get all beefed up. i like the weapons in sr3, theyare fun to play around with, too bad this game has no first person mechanic.

...hah. There's a lot of "too bad" statements I could make about SR3, but for sake of not derailing the thread, I won't.

Of all the customisation ssytems I have seen, Ghost Recon: Future Warrior get's my 10/10

(Watch from 2:30)

I think this 'form' of customisation is perfect. You can select your weapon from a visually represented list and then when you want it customised, you get an exploded view in 'Gunsmith'. You can switch out a massive variety of parts, (which apparently come in at over 20 million individual weapon combinations. 20 MILLION!!!)

I like the APB:R/Army of Two visual customisation for gear and vehicles. If we can achieve this with Hard Armour, Vehicles and Weapon skins, I will be really, really happy.

(Pity the guy isn't very talented or patient, he could have got much better results.)

Now, if we went to a terminal in a shop or a fixers datapad, we could look at this sort of menu screen. Either way, we could customise our gear this way in a virtual environment, (which could possibly be unique to the supplier based on their background, crisp and clean for corportes, flashy and glitchy for back alley fixers, that would be a nice twist on it,) and have the supplier do the work, for a fee, and pick up the equipment when the work is done, (or even get them to deliver it for a higher fee.)

Now I am not suggesting that every supplier should have this facility. Perhaps we should go to specialists for it. But I do want to be able to get the equipment to do it myself, in my safehouse, when I have the means.

The customisation options should also change depending on what resources that are available to us, either from the supplier or from ourselves. The work should also take a variable amount of time, dependant on what needs to be done and wether the resources are on hand or if they have to be procured. I don't like instant upgrading. I think it was a big let down in games like Skyrim where I can apparently make a full suit of armour in under a second.

Fucktarded game that ruined the franchise, where every step forward was immediately followed by a full on charge backwards? I think that about covers it.

That game annoyed me so much that i stopped playing after 20 minutes.. And never again... What a waste of money i'd say. (That, combined with bugs, annoyed the crap out of me... It could have been perfect though.)

huh? its not that bad, i only just started it really.

if you make a cyberpunk type character and play with a decent soundtrack its not that bad of an alternative way to play.

Thats my dude, the upload pics and your characters to the website is awesome on the xbox. 77 should have this option I hope.

That's not what i meant. I'm sure it has it's own merits. What i meant was, annoying parts was way too annoying... (Does that even make sense? Do i really care?)
