I have been sitting on the sidelines since 9/20 waiting to see if someone(including tech support) could solve the installation issues with the Enhanced Edition patch, but alas, no one seems to have the answer to the myriad of problems with this patch. I too have tried all of the different avenues suggested here in the forum but have had no luck with any of them. We now have over 64 pages, and counting, of questions and answers to this problem. There should not be this many problems with installing a patch to a game and no way should it be this difficult and frustrating. So, CD PROJEKT, if you want me to install your latest and greatest patch and if you want me to recommend this game and future games to my friends, you need to fix this. For now, everything is working great(or close to it) with patch 1.3. Am I missing out on some things??? Possibly. But, I no longer have the desire, the time, or the need to see the Enhanced Edition. And as I'm no longer banging my head against the wall, I sleep better. I recently downloaded Fallout 1 & 2 from GOG, your new gaming service. No headaches, no frustration, no issues, AND they're great games. Can't wait for Fallout 3, which should be Tuesday if I'm corrrect. I will recommend GOG to my friends, though. We already know these games will work. If you do solve the patch problem, drop me a line. If I have any time left after the Fallout series, I may give it another try.KentWestminster, CA

I still got the following error when I want to install EE:CRC ErrorCRC error: the file D:\Program Files\The Witcher\Data\patch14.exe doesn’t match the file in the setup’s .cab file. Hi,I've just recently download the patch for the enchanced edition,when i try installing it, everything goes fine until a message pops up saying it is modifying game files and it may take up to 2 hours,i left the PC on most of the day and all night and still no change, i restarted, reinstalled and tried again with same result...when i check in task manger while updating is in progress, it shows that the modifying thing is running, but 1.4 patch helper is not responding, if i check in processes vpatch.exe is using all the CPU the whole timeany help will be greatly appreciated, i really hope i don't have to download the whole patch again, as i live in South Africa and still have capped slow ass internet, should be getting new ISP soon thought.

I may sound ignorant, but I'm finding all this business very difficult (not very good at computer stuff!). Can anyone help? - I 've downloaded the TWEE upgrade patch, all 909mgs which takes over 6 hours on my pc, I know that I'll have problems as I've got no cd register key but I've emailed the atari helpline and hope they'll send me one. So the download completes and I get asked if i want to run it or not. I chose not to run it 'cos I'll wait to get my register key (if it ever comes) but here's the thing - I can't find where the download is on my pc - I've searched for it. Where is it? All 909mgs worth of it? Do I have to go through the whole thing again, and if i do will it ever work........ Still, I remain hopeful. Answer from the FAQ section : Depending on your systems specs the patching process will take some time to end, while working the hard drive activity light should flicker a lot. If it does not flicker or more than 2 hours have passed since you've started the patch it is recomended to stop the patch, uninstall The Witcher, reboot, reinstall The Witcher, patch to 1.4.Don't know if it'll help.
