The 1.4 patch is too large for me to download at the Library and store on a cd-could someone break it into two chunks to make patching possible for me. Some people only havehome access to dial up with very bad transmission speeds; when I tried to download it from home it said it would take between 68 to 84 hours at my connection speed -that's not an option. Hope someone has a solution other than buying the enhanced edition and downloading the much smaller patch for that. The only high speed access i have is at the Library.thanks

Okay here's what I'll do, I'll break it to 100 MB pieces using Winzip, check this url later: http://phil-ads.net/thewitcher it will be available as soon as I'm finished breaking up the patch. :beer:Available now. Happy downloading! :teeth:

Is this patch new? My game version says 1.4.5 something which sounds newer than 1.4. I updated my game version last year.

So I just decided to play the witcher again, I bought it soon after release, have the DVD version. This is on a different computer too so this is a new install of the game.I played it for a little bit but then decided to find patches for it. Using the check for updates link from the game autorun menu found the link for 1.4 enhanced edition and downloaded it. When I tried to run it it said I needed to register the game first. So then I had to find the manual, got it and registered the game. However now the patch is gone from my computer. There is no file on my computer called "TWEE_Upgrade.exe". I am extremely angry as a 900MB file eats a lot of my monthly bandwidth limit, as well as being in Australia and the patch taking 2 hours to download. Does the file rename itself when it unpacks to run or am I forced to download again? (which I will not do at this point) This is an incredibly infuriating way to waste bandwidth.EDIT: sorry some info- using windows Vista 32bit, home edition on a laptop

I don't know if this will help but i had a similar problem patching the game, except for a few key differences.I registered my game before downloading the patch, however when i downloaded it after registering, the patch would always disappear after arriving at 100%. My solution was to use a download manager like MiniDM,which comes with this Add On for IE. This, for me,prevented it from disappearing. I know our problems aren't identical but i couldn't help noticing the similarities when it came to the patch disappearing.

if you chose to Run the file instead of just downloading it this is normal, as the file is stored in a temporary folder and is usually deleted after you run it onceBTW, you also need a language pack, and download both files somewhere in the same folder, with their original namesrun TWEE_Upgrade then

I really do apologize if this has been specifically addressed, but i have searched this forum for about 30 minutes and cannot find it:I dowloaded the Enhanced edition and the language pack. They are all in the same folder, but they won't install without one another. The EE version goes through the registration process, but then asks for the language pack. The language pack says the EE version needs to be installed... *sigh* :hmmm: Chicken/egg thing. This is ridiculous! please help!

I've tried downloading it with IE8 and Firefox 3.5 both. IE8 goes to an error page to diagnose my internet connection (obviously it's working since I'm posting here), and Firefox displays an error message that the page is redirecting improperly.Anywhere else to download the 1.5 Patch?

Same here - tried IE, Firefox, and Chrome.MSG from Chrome = "This webpage has a redirect loop. The webpage at http://www.sciagnij.pl/programy/p/Wied%BCmin_Edycja_Rozszerzona_Patch/8902 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer...."

Ok, I seem to be getting a download working from the sticky at the top of this forum:http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=24705.0It's still downloading, I'll post here if it works.EDIT: The download updated my game to version 1.5.0.1304, although the game launcher is still telling me to check for updates. I'm hoping that's the correct/latest version.

So I just installed the Witcher for the first time since shortly after the release. So it's about as basic as it can get. No "Enhanced Edition" or any thingomajig like that. The problem is that I can only find a link to the 1.5 patch on the site - and it's not working. It also says that it needs Patch 1.4, but I can't find a clear link to that - although it's a bit hard to verify since the download links aren't working at all. It just sends me to a blank page, wheter I use IE or FF.And as a more general question, is "Enhanced Edition" and all that included in the normal patches, or is that a seperate download somewhere that I should be made aware about? Thanks in advance. :)

As I understand it now, I need the 1.4 patch, an EE/Language pack patch, and then lastly the 1.5 patch. But not a single one of the downloads are working.

I presume you've found this site before: http://www.thewitcher.com/community/en/www/installation_of_twee_in_four_easy_steps.htmlAnd you mean that the links there don't work, right?Depending on your The Witcher version, you could download the !.4 Patch and Language files from another source. If you have the english version of the game try these:1.4 + Language + adventrues + fancy stuff : http://www.fileplanet.com/191956/190000/fileinfo/The-Witcher-Enhanced-Edition-Ultimate-Patch1.4 + Language +adventures : http://www.fileplanet.com/185053/180000/fileinfo/The-Witcher-Enhanced-Edition-Full-Patch1.4 : http://www.fileplanet.com/191853/190000/fileinfo/The-Witcher---The-Witcher-Enhanced-Edition-Base-PatchLanguage : http://www.fileplanet.com/191854/190000/fileinfo/The-Witcher---The-Witcher-Enhanced-Edition-English-Language-Files1.5 : http://www.fileplanet.com/202241/200000/fileinfo/The-Witcher-Patch-v1.5The links all say "English", so I'm not sure if actual "english" is meant or "American".In theory that should not matter at all.In addition, to circumvent the cries of "Fileplanet costs money", here a little help: Click on "Download now" from any of the files and then on the next site you'll see a (on the left) that says "Register for free". Then "Click here to register" and then the normal register stuff.Granted, the whole thing is well hidden, but in fact free.Hope this works for you!

Man, thanks a lot. I wish I'd seen the Ultimate Patch before I finally managed to find a list of downloads of patches at FileShack (http://www.fileshack.com/browse.x/4368).You've been beyond helpful and exhaustive in your reply. I'm only sorry to say that I can't reward you with anything but my thanks. :)
