Enhanced Lighting?

What happened to the discussion about enhanced lighting that can be seen during cutscenes/dialogue screens? Was it enabled throughout the game?

There is a mod that can enable it called the cutscene lighting mod

Keep it mind however it will also make nights appear brighter.

I have no interest in mods, but brighter nights? It's hard to tell The Witcher 3 has nights as it is.

Then you will have to wait for CDPR to enable it or do lighting enhancements themselves but I wouldn't count on it.

There are so many technical decisions with this game that don't seem to make any sense.

Sadly true, and that's basically why I stopped using it. In the meantime cranking up Gaussian blur and bloom in Reshade + Framework is my way to mimic a better lighting.
