No, if you leave Berengar alive like I did, he gives you the Dagon Sap recipe. You get everything on his person if you let him live EXCEPT his medallion (which makes the battle with Azar Javed at the old manor easier) and the 800+ orens he is carrying. If you kill him, you get his letter, the recipe and his medallion as well. I really hated the guy throughout Act IV, such a bastard so I killed him when I met him, but then when I read his letter I felt bad and reloaded to let him live. =pAs for the "Won't Hurt a Bit" quest, I believe what is truly required to finish this quest is the boxer Zdenek's tooth (refugee's cave, near wayfarer stones, chapter v). I did not have a barghest skull to give him yet I was able to complete the quest when I got him the famous boxer's tooth. Your reward is a Mahakam Rune Sihill (which you can also get from The Royal Huntsman if you get all 10 trophies in the game).
