ETA of Quest Bugs/Xbox performance Fix?
Is there any information out there or maybe a word from the developers on when to expect a fix for all those broken quests?
I'm getting sick and tired of all the open quests in my questlog which I can't finish because the game is broken.
I miss the old days when devs were forced to release a game only when it's finished because you just couldn't give out post-launch patches.
I'm currently having a lot of problems with bugged quests. Some quests worked fine pre-1.07 and were broken by the patch (like the performance on Xbox One).
A few examples:
Hard Times
- I can't deliver the letter to the smith. One of the smiths is just not talking to me, the other one doesn't have an option for delivering the letter.
- I already tried some suggestions by other users (talk to him at 10:00 am) but nothing worked so far.
Contract: Skellige's Most Wanted [Spoiler ahead]
- I can do the quest until the final boss battle (I read of some users not even coming that far)
- When the boss's health is 0 the boss gets stuck in an endless animation.
- Repeating the same animation and audio sequence over and over again, slowly drifting through rocks and other assets and down in the ground where he repeats his animations until he is so far away from the player that I can't hear him anymore.
- Quest can't be finished. Boss health bar is depleted, but quest not completed.
Not Only Eagles Dare
- I'm told to find the treasure as described in the letter
- I found the treasure and got the loot.
- Quest still says I have to find the treasure, even though I already picked it up.
- Quest completely broken and remains in my questlog.
- Looked at some videos showing how to do the quest, in case I missed something - I didn't.
Those are just a few examples, the devs are welcome to write a PM so I can send them a complete list of quests broken for me.
How does this happen? Don't you guys have a QA department?
And yes, I know how massive this game his, but shouldn't you test everything before it is shipped? This is at least how we do it in my company.
Especially regression tests when a new patch is shipped. It seems a regression test was completely missing for 1.07.
Not only broke the patch a lot of quests, it drastically decreased the performance on my Xbox One.
Suddenly I have a lot more loading screens, even in conversations (WTF???).
In bigger cities every few seconds the screen gets blurred (why didn't this happen pre1-07?).
Even during conversations the screen gets blurred or a loading ring (lower right corner) appears.
What about the other players? Are you really okay with that? This is not what I expected from a 2015 game, especially after some other companies failed with their games and presented bad examples.
I hope all those issues will be addressed soon. I hope I can finish the quests some day and I hope the performance will be improved heavily!
// Edit:
Oh and I won't think about buying the DLCs until the actual game is fixed. To me it looks like you are only focussing on getting the DLCs ready for more money instead of fixing this buggy game. The devs are welcome to reply to this thread instead of keeping their silence as usual.
