Ever lost a drinking game?

Well, I haven't and so I'm wondering if it's really possible. At least if you do it properly; don't start already intoxicated, start chasing don't cheap vodka from the start etc. If you start with a few beers and the go over to wine (or booze for the harder ones), it seems you can't loose. I know Geralt is supposed to be more resistant to alcohol than ordinary beings, but when it comes down to always beating guys like Thaler, it's only a matter of choosing when to do it, i.e. not very challenging. Perhaps something to tweak in an upcoming patch, maybe by adding some part of chance into it?Btw, I'm talking in-game here - in the real world it's an entirely different matter!

I'm not very experienced in drinking contests. I merely used it as a means to an end and.. failed once against Erkin van Blunt. He refused wines but accepted booze which knocked out Geralt after a few bottles. Only with mead beginning (don't remember how many) and as "finisher" one or two booze bottles he beat Erkin.

i messed up the first time i played :) -- so it's definitely possible ... even though i haven't since, i still keep expecting it to happen ;DGeralt falls over drunk ... passes out and wakes up later, still drunk ... not a pretty sight, but talking to some people in that condition can be quite funny :)

I lost to Thaler the very first time I played the drinking game. All that happens is you pass out cold, wake up in the street still drunk lol

Of course i 've lost! I don't remember how many times, but i remember for sure two persons: the drunkard in the inn (chapter 1, outskirts) and Thaler (he's a strong opponent!) When i woke up the bastards had robed me! Both of them! :mad:Oh, and another one: Granny. ;D She's a heavy drinker.

True, I've lost to her as well. But I'd almost consider her cheating, since she only waits for you to get drunk to throw you out! ;)Seems there's not much fault in the contest, I've simply used the right tactics all the time. Thx for clearing that out.

How much Orens did they steal? :eek:When Geralt was kicked out of the New Narakort inn after he lost against Erkin I didn't check his money. If he was robbed as well, that would mean the so said innkeeper took it :whatthe:

I've lost against Erkin. The weird thing is that you can get them three-quarters drunk, exit the drinking game, take Wives Tears, ask them to drink again, and they'll start three-quarters drunk. You'd think they'd say, "Hell, no, I'm already tipsy," but no. I guess drinking is known for spoiling the judgment. :D

Interesting, Corylea, I should try that the next time.Personally I've only "lost" the drinking games in which I didn't provide enough alcohohl...You'd think that your drinking partners would also have something, but no. The poor witcher that kills monsters for those few Orens that are called rewards has to buy the whole booze...Tstststs

I don't remember exactly, but i think half the money i had. Someone warned me about this, or maybe it was the manual? :hmmm: :teeth:In the New Narakort i don't believe they steal. They are high society people. They just throw you out. :D One day, i said "what the hell, i 'll try this thing, fisstech" and next time i found myself out, on the street, sharing the company of a tankard asking me "Albino twins?" Lovely moments. :D

Oh, cut the whining! You, "poor witcher" step in the people's houses and take whatever you want: booze, food, little weapons, even their clothes from the launtry baskets! :p

who knows... if Geralt spoiled the whole high society party with his befuddlement the innkeeper kicks him out and takes a fee because Geralt annoyed his noble guests :hmmm:

Actually, that's what he just did during my last playthrough, so now I've "been there, done that" too! ;)

how many top quality alcohol bottles(e.g. wyvern blood spirit) can Geralt take? I've never tried losing in drinking with top quality booze, so I'm curious now xDAlso, once I drank some temerian rye while in a crypt at night ( as if it were a potion, just to see how many of those Geralt can take before intoxication - unexpectedly, the first bottle brought immediate intoxication even though Geralt can drink 6 beers in the bars..

This is strange... Are you sure you didn't drink anything before?

Beers and all the alcoholic beverages are light stuff, stronger booze which you can use for potion preparing causes Intoxication even after one bootle.... though :hmmm: I didn't gave Geralt that booze anymore when he left act III because there is no spezial occasion to drink.

Sticking to the same kind of beer seems to make a difference, too. During one drinking game with Thaler, I had to mix up, because I didn't have enough of one kind. This was the only drinking game I've lost so far (although I've challenged Thaler several times by now).By the way, you can interrupt a drinking game to swallow a wifes' tears or buy new booze, then continue. The combatant is still drunk, as long as you don't change locations .

Never even passed out once...HATip: Alway drink weak beer since you can drink more.If you go for the medium to strong stuff you will lose for sure.I never even lost to that silent Knight Erik since the alcohol you must drink with him is Strong alcohol but only 3 strong alcohol will put him down anyway but along was you stick to the same stuff eg if a person wants to drink temerian rye with you...you can only drink temerian rye but usually Geralt is a pretty strong drinker so you can handle it.
