Expansions and graphical enhancement discussion

I already anticipate negative remarks since this is my first post, despite being a long time lurker.

With the expansions coming up right around the corner, I believe it is time for the consideration of directx12. CD Projekt RED has been transparent in the past about issues, so now is an excellent time to discuss the future of the title, especially given we know TW3 will be supported for a long time.

Given the amount of work done on this incredible game, it would truly be an incredible shame if such a realized game was unable to achieve it's realization graphically.

In interviews in the past (forgive my lack of sources, it's late, need sleep), many effects had to be removed as they were to taxing for dx11. Forward lit particles could make a return and we can all bask in the glory of the flames from 2013/2014. Which leads me to beat a dead horse.

2014 TW3 sadly looked much more technically advanced and artistically pleasing than 2015. The expansions could be a perfect opportunity to give us pc users a more advanced graphics menu, and even optional visual style that replicates the colorfulness and fantasy the 2014 trailers and gameplay represented. People are hard at work trying to break your engine with their limited modding tools to try to bring back what we were presented last year.

You say you're a company who strives on advanced graphical fidelity. We saw it with the cutting edge visuals W2 gave us at the time. Give PC gamers the ability to tweak TW3 to look like last year's visuals. The extra bloom effects, color grading less orange, pushed back/nonexistent on a clear day fog so we can see the details of the mountains from the windmill outside novigrad. PC especially would benefit from the option

I know I am beating a dead horse. The game is spectacular. I have logged over 150 hours and counting. But I can't help but feeling sad whenever I see the 35 minute demo of trotting through Novigrad after the clear view of the mountains, the longer lod change distance for the buildings, the less orange color grading. Then the swamp's atmosphere. It's such a shame, especially with all the negative PR the whole "downgrade" debacle received on launch. Such a phenomenal game from a next level developer distracted from PR.

Marcin Momot stated (again, sources) on these forums that we would be able to replicate the graphics displayed from the 2014 build. This is not the case. Artistic decisions aside, Bioshock Infinite had the option to make the decision of graphic styling.

I apologize for beating a dead horse. It just seems with the expansions approaching a good opportunity to at least discuss the possibility of graphical enhancements and options.

PS. Also that spotlight behind Geralt should be toggleable. Looks really off.
