Experience gain

1) Does the experience gain depend on your current level? So, will you get less XP if you complete a quest with lvl20 than with lvl12?2) Are there (significant) differences between easy, medium and hard mode concerning XP distribution (quests, monsters)Has anyone actually paid attention to those things?

1) Yes, as you get more experienced, you find the same monsters give you less and less XP. However, I think the quests are still a fixed amount of XP. 2) Not sure, actually. Only played in normal.

Well it's obvious that a drowner grants 50 XP at the very beginning but only 1 XP at the end. I'm more interested in the quest reward if that's really a fixed amount and if it differs between the 3 modes.

Sorry for bumping the thread but maybe someone tested this already.

Pretty sure XP from quest is Fixed amount, no matter what level you are. And you do get more XP the easier the difficulty.

Not sure at all, but from my "testings" (well, beginning my 3rd game in a row, will see) :just example for chapter 1 : drowners give you a bunch of xp first time you meet them. Fine. Second time you meet some, less xp, and finally 3rd time, only 1 xp per mob killed. If Geralt went from level 4-5 to .. whatever, sounds logical. But !Chapter 2 : you do what you have to do in temple quarter, then, one day or another, you go to swamps. There, drowners will give correct xp (I guess). Then you go back to town (you have too, to update some quests), and then, even if you're still same level (few chances, but may happen), same drowners are set to 1xp. That's not so logical anymore. So I "rerolled" my game, putting all I could in Quen / Igni so I could do some kittin' in swamps (and this is some fun, even when you die), beacuse 1xp per mob is poor, but when killing dozens of'em in a burn (some of'em), well ...

*performs necromancy rituals*I've done some preliminary testing of the experience gain of various monsters, but it's been limited to the first chapter only. The experience gained from a specific type of creature decreases with level. E.g. barghests net you 60 XP at level 3 (which is what you start Chapter 1 at) and when you get to level 9, you only get 35 XP from each barghest killed. Drowners go from 65 to 40, ghouls from somewhere around 130-150 to 95 and echinops still net you 115 at level 9 and 10.In Chapter 2 you get around the 1 XP for drowners, never did get much for them and I suspect it's because you get the silver sword, which is so much deadlier against them than the steel sword.Haven't checked what you get for the other monsters in chapter 2, except the graveir, which is the best XP farm. You still get around 360 XP per graveir at the tail end of Chapter 2 when you're closing in on level 20.All of these numbers are on hard difficulty.

Yes, XP from creatures decreases with level. That's logical and realistic, I suppose. I've played the game on Normal and Hard, and in Hard you get slightly less XP, but not significantly less, because at the end I finished the game with only 3 levels less than on Normal, and those two playthroughs were very similar.
