I'd love to see Geralt with a couple of more moves such as jumping onto things or over fences/tables, similar to the intro scene (as mentioned previously). I'd also like to see more about Geralt's past and/or the past of his companions more. Other than that a game editor would be awesome indeed :)

hi,if i understand well, there will be a game editor avaible for the game users so we will can make mods for The Witcher. I have 3 questions : will there be a section somewhere where we will can upload and download our mods? will it be free or will there be a moderator to verify if the mods are in the mood of the game? and finally, when this editor will be avaible? I think that CD projeckt ideas melt to users ideas could be very rich for the future extensions. And thanks a lot for this game it s a very good work (even if we can't jump over the fences lol)ps : excuse for my bad english

My vote for the an expansion about the Chilhood of Gerald and how he decides to be a Witcher, why, etc, and all his history.

You do not decide to 'be' or 'not to be' a Witcher. ;] It's decision made by someone else, like for example: Wandering witcher finds an one yrs ol Orphan. He decides that he will take the kid with him, and so fate of such kid is decided - he will becoma a witcher, or he will just die because is too weak ;]So the truth is, EVERY witcher had almost the same childhood.
Not neccessarily orphans. In the books the kids were called the Children of Fate. A witcher finds (for instance) a merchant in grave danger, surrounded by monsters. The merchant says he would give him anything, if the witcher saves his life. Every witcher then has to ask for the same thing: "Give me what you have at home but you do not know of it." And voila, by a strange twist of Fate, it shall always be a kid. Either a baby born to the merchant's wife or an orphan adopted while the merchant was away. The witchers leaves to return in time to collect his reward. Actually, the children have no choice and most of them die a painful and horrible death. The rest become witchers.Sapkowski uses many archetypes from tales and legends. This is one of them.

i'd like to see a(n unofficial) blood patch. it's really creepy to chop someone's head off in the german version, and not see any blood.also, more sex, and less obvious pick-up paths.. "here's some flowers, wanna fuck?" is just lame, even for peasant girls.

Eeep...first post for me...I hope the game editor will let people make their own stories with it. Though I guess the GUI etc is sort of set up so that you can't have another character (or another 'class') as the PC. It's a shame as that means no female protagonist :'( .

I also think it's lame, and in fact I'd like to see less sex. This game has got a pretty screwed up view of females.

Do you really think we didn't had a screwed up view about women long time ago?Remember Medieval times?Even nowadays there are still religions, nations who have that view about women...And don't forget The Witcher palys in very dark times...And still:You have a choice to sleep with the women you encounter...Nobody told us we HAVE to sleep with the women,in order to move on to the next questline:)

Yap.For my own part, I try to be monogamous. I let Geralt do the beast with two backs with Triss right at the beginning of the game and now I tend to compare every other woman to her. Well, to be honest, until now I've had only one chance to repeat the experience (with the barmaiden in the outskirts) but - what shall I say - I WITHSTOOD (!!) Yes! ;DActually I dont think that the game has a strange view of women, because you CAN choose to be monogamous. And if you have ever played Gothic 3, Lux, you will agree that it's good to see any women at all in the game. And kids. Gothic 3 didn't have any.

hey,as far as i played, i let him sleep with 3 women :Di think he owes me one for this, so my suggestion to game is some sort of developing the loving abilities of geralt.it should not be too lame, but maybe he faces a queen or some female boss and he cannot defeat her the usual way...u know what i mean. i think a backflash to geralt good old times, when he had all his abilities would be nice. just to see how great he was and how we the players screw him up with our pitiful skills :Dcard game,d o not want, too much standard.arena battle or so has already been there in rpg world, i think this game is so extraordinary, it should have new mini games etc.no re warming of old shit, my advice.

Hi,a better inventory would be so very very great. It would be nice if there were at last some dedicated space for the alchmy stuff and potions. It would also be great if I knew which component is missing when potions get greyed out. Anything else is great ;)Anachronist

or at the very least direct access to the storage space when you're meditating at the inn for brewing purposes.

It would be great if you can hold the torch together with the sword or some other weapon. Because if you´re in a Dungeon or something, you can only fight in the dark without some special drinks ;D The best idea would be, you can hold in the left hand the torch and the sword in the rght. ::) That would be great!!!!AND......the Loading Times are very long!!! :( Even when you go into an emty little house! That´s sometimes...

That brings to mind another question. Could one use a torch as a weapon? (As yet I haven't got a torch, so maybe one can, I dunno.) We all know that fire is the one multi-purpose-weapon against wild animals, humans and demons alike. What better way to defend against or drive back those hungry werewolves-vampires-ghouls sumbitches than with a torch?EDIT: I just read in another thread that it is indeed possible to use a torch as a weapon. I gotta go now, back to The Witcher, and search every barrel and abandoned plague house for those darn things. :)

I would also like the ability to be able to put objects from my inv into a container e.i. chest or barrel or whatever. It's very frustrating to be forced to through everything on the ground instead of switching places with the objects in the container.

I would like to be able to find or buy pouches/backpacks to increase the inventory with a few slots. Maybe a maximum of 2-3 pouches with 4 slots each?A white wolf as a pet ;)A small house.I would definatly love a expansion with a new story of course :)

Well, this is my first post, I'm in my third day of gameplay and I'm quite happy with the game :). Anyway, I've found the inventory a bit confusing. It would be fine if the slots were a little bigger. Backpacks, as I've read, would be a fine idea too. And ¿how about a part of the inventory reserved only for potions? It could be something like the little box where Geralt stores them in the books, the one seen on the intro. And a star appearance of "The Roach" would be nice too ;).Oh, I have to say one more thing: absolutely no expansion of Geralt's past. The best part of the game is that there is a brand new story for Geralt. Talking about his past would be talking about the books, and that can be very risky. Whoever wants to know the complete story of Geralt of Rivia should read the books, they are awesome! And the story of Geralt before the books, how he "became" a withcer and so, would be very boring: it's almost the same for every witcher, no differences at all.About he getting married, and owning his own home... Well, I don't see Geralt as a farmer, a blacksmith, or even a static person. He's a nomad. And I don't think he would be able to spend much time with the same woman ;DSorry for the extension of my post ;)

I would very much dislike any critical spoilers from the books (becouse they are not all translated to english and none to finnish :( )

First of all:I want a NO-DVD Patch. Yes i understand all the Copy-Protection and all this. But (I am registred user... having my Witcher Copy Registred and all that) i want a No-DVD Patch. Sorry i consider it a PITA to be always switching DvDs around, just for the Copyprotection. Its mostlikely being "broken" in a few days anyway... If its not already. Witcher is a great game and if you look at Surpreme Commander and the like, there are Games without the DvD requirement. (And yes i know this suggestion alone will get a lot of people to be like "buy the real game" and such flames. It seems to get to people as soon as you ask for a no-dvd patch)I think the Patch should be a Registred Only.. the Startup seeing you registred.. or if you registred you get a Mail with a Special No-Dvd patch or something like that. It shouldn't be required and all that, just a thought to save me the hassle. There will be a NO-DvD patch anyway.. either official or inofficial, but i'd prefer an official one.Second:Okay, lets get to the point where i actually say i would love to see the game Improve. When doing Mixtures and such. I am somewhere in the Middle of Act three, being able to create Bombs, Potions and Weapon Coats... please, please, include a Filter to the Brewing thing, so i don't need to do all the Scrolling through Bombs and Coats. I know its not a lot of scrolling, but i mean you got such Filters already in the UI and i just think its missing in the Brewing Window.More Weapons/Styles... you have these great Assamble of different weapons.. but really, it would be great if you have several Weapons at your Disposal and not just swords. I mean, in the long run all you use are your swords.. and i would love to be wielding some Axe or Blunt objects. It would be nice to get the option to somehow spare some Enemies. I mean, i am a witcher, i am not manhunting. And i would love to be able to decide if i want to turn in the Drugdealers instead to slay them. I mean, you know, like show mercy... I can do it with the sentient critters.. why not with already sentient Henchmen? I understand something have to be done, but right now i am feeling like parttime Murderer and i am not sure a Witcher, wishing to be neutral, would do any like that.More Influance on the Storyline of Characters. In the Story you had to decide between two sides. Fine with me. But, and i really love that about the game, nothing is just good or bad. There is no outright good or bad side, but why can't you turn others to your side? I mean, from talking with others i was under the impression Siegfried would come to question his actions, and he is a really good guy, undeceiphed by the misconcepts other carry. And it really did hurt me to turn on him (well more him on me, for my course of action). I mean, the whole thing was about me being his Pal, helping him, cause i liked the way he acted (even if a bit to much on the fanatic side of religion), and seeing all the good and such. And then getting to know about how bad his Order is (from my point of view) and deciding against the Order... i really wanted to be like Siegfried, come with me, trust me on that. We been fighting back to back, you know i do things for a reason. Heck, he if i had finished that one quest, he would have been cheering me for being honorable and a good person (but turning it in, makes the other fail). I mean.. okay i betrayed his trust. But why can't you sway him? Maybe add some more possible lines to the "Glossar" and if you got the right ones, he is being able to be turned or something. I am not saying you should be able to outright turn him against everything he believes in. Same goes for the Squirrils (even tho, i like what they do, just not how they do it)Time needs to have more influance. Seriously. In Act III Merri Gold is like: You need to hurry and get the boy to me... all this uncontrolled powers and such. Well.. i was hunting wolves, wyverns, killed Schmugglers, cleared robberies and all this stuff.. and little Boy was sitting for at least a good week ingame inside that Church. I am not saying i want to be rushed through levels and have all the time to be on the clock. Just some Quests should be what they are supposed to be. If you are on the clock, its more easier to choose one "friend" over the other. That way, as my knowledge did grow, i had a better chance to glance behind the curtain. Which made the Choise not really easier, but still... if the questgiver is like "hurry time is of importance" it should actually be like that and not give us like 2 weeks to finish. Same with that guy, this bard. He is like "hurry to get my instrument i have to start in a moment"... and i am returning the instrument after 3 weeks... yeah, just in time.Other than that? MOOOOOORREEEEE STORY. Prequel, Sequel... i don't care... this is hell of a game. PLEASE, PLEASE do put (more) afford on another such great Story and not so much on Technical improvements. Okay, fix a little... but don't try to do a graphic overhaul or something like that, Please do just continue the story focus. Even if it takes 2 years for another expansion and the Grafic is the same... i would buy it, if its only this storydriven again. Since Baldurs Gate II i haven't had another Roleplay game keeping me busy and fazinated this long.. and please do keep on the Story Focus. I don't need an Oblivion Type of 6 hour game. I want Story, Depth... and well.. more like the Game you created.Oh and as my fiance just forces me to write: She wants a woman Witcher ... with woman Romance/sex Type of Scenes (Yes, nude men). (And please people: A women having that much sex with random partners is not more or less a whore as our own character is already)

to Kajan451: I strongly suggest you read the original books. You will then understand why Geralt is using "only" swords. By the way, ingame, you can use two more weapons in addition to your swords - daggers, axes, clubs, torches...Witchers are supposed to be emotionless killing machines. Tolerated by the common population only a tiny bit more than monsters they kill. Not your average mass-produces golden curly haired fantasy heroes, you know?Spakowski's world is WAY different from the Western ("Tolkienish") fantasy in the means of general concept and philosophy. This is not high fantasy, this is not even swords and sorcery. This is DARK fantasy, like it or not. There are NO woman witchers. The only kind of a witcher in the books was Cirilla. And she was something like Leo in the game. Women become witches, or wizards (mages), not witchers. I am not very keen on changing everything to meet the US standards. The world of Geralt is not a world where human rights mean anything. And an average contemporary lawyer would quite soon end up tasting a few feet of cold steel.
