Failed quests!?!?!

I don't know how but i failed some quests and its irritating because i would have just liked to do them. It also bugs e that i didn't get to experience that part of the game.

Also some quests fail based on choice. Like if you decide not to go about something in a certain way that quest fails because you did it another way

I did one recently (which I won't say more specifically to avoid spoilers), but . . . I team up with an NPC fellow going after something, get attacked by the NPCs there as specified, the attackers die, that's what was supposed to happen . . . quest failed. Uh . . . they were supposed to die. They attacked us first. Failed quest. Seems bugged to me, but then again, maybe we were supposed to surrender/be slaughtered? :(

I thought being able to fail a quest one of the better features of the game. Do it right or don't progress the objective/quest. Logical and sensible. Nothing more to it.

Also, you are allowed to start from another save-point before the failing of the objective. This should of been the first thing a person does after failing a quest (or just roll with it as part of the storyline) instead of notifying us you failed a quest.

That would work if the quest itself failed because of player-action rather than bugged, and there are a few quests that are posted in these forums as bugged/failing thereby. What a player chooses to do first, though, that's up to them.

There are actual consequences and different paths by the choices you make.
Geralt does not have a time machine.

But this leaves a lot of things to do differently on second playthrough.

It is _impossible_ to see every story play out in one playthrough.

This is why this game is so great.

It's not an achievement game where it is about to collect everything, do everything and complete game 100% on first play.

It's a true high quality RPG experience with real consequences and it's cool!

Apart bugged quests if you really roleplay you should accept failed quests as part of the journey. IMO you shouldn't be able nor to do all quests in a single playthrough nor be able to solve all of them. In the past days RPGs didn't enable the user to solve all quests nor in a single playthrough to do everything. It is true that nowadays with internet is much easier to find guides etc. but it is also true, imo, that using guides in a first playthrough is a sure way to not enjoy a roleplay game. That's more metagaming than roleplaying.

That damn horse race :( I had my map turned off so I actually failed at that easy quest. I don't know if it affects the gameplay though.

I suppose a bug may be to blame... but my playstyle doesn't allow me to drop my attentiveness at any time and, so far, haven't encountered 'bugs' associated with failed quest [objectives]. All my failed quests were because of my actions (and I would simply reload a past save and try again until success) or failure to provide results necessary for continuation.

I do believe you though that there may be bugs. Not seen any myself.

It´s called consequences for your actions and I applaud CDPR for including the possibility of failure. It also adds replayability to the game.
