Fast style and pain

Fast style and pain

I've seen that fast style is supposed to inflict pain on victims, right? Very often I actually see that pain is supposed to be inflicted (it say so in that floating text) yet the victim appears unnafected. Is it a bug or something? Fast style might even be useful if pain could be inflicted but as of now, I've yet to see it once. Am I doing something wrong? I've been wondering this because I'm thinking about taking some pain "enhancing" talents, but don't want to if it doesn't work. Any tips are welcome.

Quite a few monsters are immune to pain. Usually undead and insectoids I believe.

here's some information on wyvernsit's also possible that the amount of pain you inflicted was not sufficient to elicit a reaction ... it might react (more) if you buffed up the pain damage with your chosen weapon. There are thresholds, so a little pain may be nothing :witchmas:

Inflicting pain on an opponent that you usually fight against with fast style is very handy. When the opponent is in pain it is impossible to parry or dodge, so swich to strong style and beat the monster to death in almost no time.

That was the idea, but wasn't really working untill tonight. It appears that I simply didn't inflict enough pain. Now it's much better.

Also, even if Pain doesn't disable the target, it still lowers his To HIt, so even if he's attacking, he shouldn't be hitting that much. Very important if playing with a difficulty mod.

Well ... pain is awesome to inflict, but easier with signs than fast style.Obvious way is yrden, though I've often wished I could throw a dagger at some guy limping around in pain, instead of having to close in.You can also inflict pain with igni, but since it requires igni 4, the stacking of other stuff, such as incineration, lots of damage, and hitting multiple targets, means they're probably just going to die.
