FF:06:B5 means Friend + Friend, June 2025?

Just a thought occurred to me that this is the release month of Cyberpunk Multiplayer?

Didn't this code occur somewhere after the release of some patch, so like this wasn't an original thing that occurred in launch, so maybe this was the actual roadmap for multiplayer?

Thought came to my head after watching this:

Looking at the speculations about what potentially could Cyberpunk do to create bigger profits than release of first expansion, well that would be a multiplayer.

There was speculations earlier by Tyler McVicker in patch 1.3 hex editor watching launch file, seeing that multiplayer was renamed as multiplayer_old. Having to do all these renamings rather rather than completely remove them from the launcher probably means that the project was never abandoned.

But why would they not release any information about it yet? Maybe the June 2025 is the teaser trailer for the launch instead of the actual launch. Maybe they didn't know themselves when they first made the time, but wanted to make it important milestone...

This also goes with their plans to release the game in specific tax bracket, giving them 1.5 year time to make that 2 missing billion in profits.

I think it would all add up, but not likely to get any confirmation about the subject.

It would also add a lot of meaning why the code was stitched into the praying image of a monk statue. This was the secret "dream" that the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 were praying to release. Some kind of hopeful resurrection of the game. The CEO of CDPR also seems to confirm there's a plan for continuous support of the Cyberpunk 2077 project, in not just the release of next game which is probably at least 3-4 years away from today, depending widely on how well they can implement their previous work etc, just like Witcher 4 has been told to be able to release the whole trilogy in just few years after releasing first one.

Maybe this was also why in end of last patch announcement there was a "small" giggle about having some surprises on the way, because they weren't that small afterall... which could also mean that 2nd expansion is still also on the way, based on my previous speculations about the inviting of another studio to create patch for them... Or it could mean that there isn't 2nd expansion but there's going to be ongoing work of the game with the size of the expansion, which is likely going to become with rewards from multiplayer modes + real money purchases of specific outfits... it could even be similar deals that Fortnite is doing, being able to get Cyberpunk themed characters from other Cyberpunk franchises, like Neo from Matrix etc.

These theories and speculations are getting more and more complex.

Multiplayer simply isn't coming, in June or at any other point. Nor is a second expansion. They've said that for years now.

Hope dies last, I guess, for those who would like either of the two.

No chance because they already announced when moving to Unreal Engine that all the work about multiplayer on Cyberpunk went into trash...
And a second expansion? No way, some "minor things" like we got the last time, nothing more. Again, there is no dev working on Cyberpunk anymore and I highly doubt CDPR would delegate the development of a full big expansion to someone else.

Just as a reminder, CDPR officially announced a while ago that Phatom Liberty will be the last "big" release on Red Engine ;)

So yes, something is probably coming, but nothing "big"...

That video linked is a compression course in: "Correlation is not causation."

I don't know how any of the actual information provided in that video, which is extremely minimal in detail, would somehow lead even remotely to the conclusion that multiplayer will be added to CP2077. Anything is possible, but here are the facts I can give you.

1.) There has been no official confirmation of multiplayer being implemented (or even seriously considered) in CP2077.

2.) There are a few accounts of the devs explaining that the idea for multiplayer was brought up, but relatively quickly dismissed.

3.) The engine for CP2077 does not appear to be conducive to a multiplayer environment in any way, meaning the whole system would likely need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

4.) Absolutely no mention of "multiplayer features for Cyberpunk" appear on any official advertisements, roadmaps, or PR releases since well before the release of the game.

5.) There are a slew of announced projects the studio is working on, absorbing 100% of the manpower the company has on the dev end.

As stated, anything is possible. I remember writing a post explaining why something like TW3 would be extremely unlikely to work on something like the Nintendo Switch, let alone allow for cross-progression between a handheld/portable device and PC/full console. Like, two days later, CDPR announced TW3 for the Switch. So, empirically, I need to allow for that possibility, no matter how slight.

But I think the chances of MP for Cyberpunk is extremely, overwhelmingly slight in the face of everything that is in development.

They also said 2.1 was going to be final patch, until 2.2 happened, and likely 2.3 based on speculation about the rapid updates in speculated video

They would still never outsource something as big as Phantom Liberty or multiplayer. That would be done in house. Plus, the number of employees working on Cyberpunk 2077 just doesn't equate to an expansion or anything that big.

While I also agree that the chances of Cyberpunk 2077 getting a multiplayer mode at this point are extremely low - virtually nonexistent - it's worth noting that the idea was indeed seriously considered and officially acknowledged by CD Projekt RED in the past:

1) in 2019 CDPR publicly confirmed that they were working on a standalone multiplayer experience set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. It wasn’t meant to be part of the base game, but planned after launch. This was announced via their official channels - not just rumor or speculation.

2) In the official CP2077 credits, there are developers listed under “Multiplayer” and various dataminers found multiplayer-related elements in the code (matchmaking, online lobbies, PvP), indicating that some level of technical work had indeed been done.

3) In a 2021 investor call, CDPR announced a change in direction, stating they were scaling back their multiplayer ambitions and focusing instead on single-player experiences with select online elements. The Cyberpunk-related multiplayer project was therefore officially paused or abandoned, but it was far from an unsubstantiated rumor.

Even if the work was never released. You still have to credit them. Also, I would be surprised if Cyberpunk 2 didn't have multiplayer. They could've laid the ground work for the sequel.

You're absolutely right that developers should be credited for their work, even if it never ships - no disagreement there. But my point wasn’t about whether the Multiplayer credits are valid (of course they are), but that those credits - along with official announcements and datamined content - clearly show that multiplayer was more than just a dismissed idea. It had active development and was publicly confirmed by CDPR, before being later deprioritized.
