Yes that is what I am referring to...
Its not that the fight is hard... I just noticed that when Garalt gets knocked down he takes way to long to stand up therefore keeping me open to an attack, also when Letho blocks my attack Garalt also stands there for ages and you cannot dodge during that time..
This is the reason it was hard... as well as Letho 1 hit killing me from time to time didn't make this fight at all enjoyable..
I beat him about 10mins ago... still that section showed me some over looked features in the game that I hope are fixed in The Witcher 3
The way I approach combat in the game, there are two tactical rules that you must observe at all times, and Geralt will get killed if you don't. These are especially important in Dark mode, and against bosses and crowds in any mode.
1. Do unto others before they do you. Whenever it is productive and safe to attack, you must do so, with an attack that is telling. Knockbacks, Aard, and Yrden allow you to press the attack until your opponent blocks you. Do not continue to attack when your opponent is ready to block; you will get knocked back and counterattacked.
2. "Don't get killed, witcher." When you cannot attack, you must avoid taking damage. Your opponents have better reflexes, timing, accuracy, and weapons than you do. Stay out of range and do not give them a chance to use them. Parry, roll, kiting, Quen are your friends.

increase bomb damage via alchemist tree upgrades and kill him with bombs
takes about 20 grapeshot bombs on "Dark" difficulty

use a potion to increase your immunity to poison. The area is a lot easier with a higher level sword, armor and the right potions/upgrades.
Don't forget to use your witcher powers. Cast protective sign so that you are always protected, If you get hit then don't attack unless you recast the sign, you will need stamina for this so plan your character carefully.. Buy some bombs so you can throw them on letho. Also if possible try to finish every quest you can so you can get more XP + try to attain better sword and armor if possible, use armor and sword upgrades. For me this fight was extremely hard + game was crashing back then, and that problem only went away when I upgraded to windows 7. I found it frustrating that Lethos signs were much more destructive and that his quen sign lasted longer however with patience, good parrying /dodging, quen and bombs you should win this.
