Terrible, TERRIBLE title.

Nice conclusion.

My mouse/KB controls are fine - make sure you activate HArdware Cursor in Video options.

It's incredible that a forum moderator talk like that, being ironic and denying people problems, they paid their game.

Unbelievable

But he wasn't denying any problems. He was saying that the title of the thread didn't match the quality of the post. He even tried to help him out with his M+K issues. Go back in time to the Bioware Social Network in 2013 if you want to see irony and denial.

after getting used to them I think mouse and keyboard controls are great. my only problem is that I can't jump mid-combat, but that's not mkb-specific.
what I'd love is if I didn't have to press escape three times to exit the map.. I open it a lot and it's really annoying.

The bad:
Too bad I cannot customize my controller buttons....
Audio volume becomes too soft in certain cut scenes... Grrr...

Impression: A solid and polished game that is extremely rare by today's video game industry standard - today I expect games to be somewhat broken on its launch date XD

No major problems with M+KB here. Not enough to justify qq comments, lol.

The delivery service is late. Like 3 minutes late... heads will role.

I think the KB+M controls are pretty solid. Especially as I get used to them, it's getting better. The only problem for me is switching between different menus. Although I know that each menu screen has its own keybind, but still it would have helped to have the buttons to click with the mouse as well.

Here's my first negative impression:

Mind you, I've just barely scratched the surface but this thing is immediately apparent; NPCs' talking lines.
I don't know what I expected, but this is not looking good, each NPC only has one or two lines and every third villager has these exact same ones... and I'm not even exaggerating, from what I've seen at least. I can only imagine the repetition in Novigrad. I understand that voiceovers are time and money consuming but in such a huge world, I'd expect a little more variety - and this is only the smallest location.

Also having some issues with navigating Geralt (K+B), but I think I'll get used to that. Other than that, this might be the most immersive game world I've been 'in'. It doesn't even feel like a game at times. Congrats for achieving that!

There are hotkeys for most of these (M for map, L for alchemy, j for quests etc). Pressing the respective hotkey for the thing open will close said thing. I still find myself pressing escape 3 times though :).

I am unsure why you find the keyboard and mouse controls a problem. There were a few things that I tweaked with the keybinds like changed Alt for dodge to left control because that felt more comfortable and on higher difficulties i figured I'd be dodging and A LOT. KeyBinds are designed to be manipulated by the K/M users to get the most optimal arrangement for you.

I know the hotkeys, it just didn't occur to me that I should close them with the same key :D
I figured it our since then, but thanks.

How is it a terrible title?
I posted my first negative impressions and I posted my conclusion about the overall feel for the game. One thing doesn't negate the other.

First (and only) negative impression: The extremely clunky and inconsistent interface!

This includes:
1) Annoying message, when changing from controller to K/M (i.e. if you want to use both). This message makes no sense at all, and is probably a leftover from debugging.
2) Very limited possibilities to change the K/M interface (controller is new - I did not yet experiment with it). As others here have mentioned you can change keys, but not influence key actions, so for example double tap a keyboard key to do something, or double click a button on the mouse.
3) An extremely annoying and repetitive 'loading screen' - in the beginning everybody tries to train combat, tries different key mappings and so on. This leads to many reloads to try different things: Why must I hear every time a voice over complete with picture when I only want to reload a game??

I cannot understand why CDPR tries to destroy this excellent game by making it hard to use...

For me, the only negative so far that's worth mentioning is the trees / bushes / wind. I've mentioned this before, in the vain hope that it would be fixed for release, but apparently not. They still whip around in a ridiculously sped-up manner, and some smaller trees look positively comical, as though they're dancing. It completely ruins the ambience, which, with the exception of the spastic trees, is amazing. Absolutely, photograph-worthy.

There won't be any '"fix" because it's a design choice and not a bug. And I personanlly really like it. Adds a lot to the amazing atmosphere of the game.

The onle problem is that clicking the excape key the game doesn't bring you back to the gameplay. You must pass by every window. I mean:

Click M key for map
- Local Map window opens
Click Escape key
- Region Map opens
Click Escape key again
- World Map opens
Click Escape Key for third time
Halleluyah! I'm in the game again!!!

Besida that.... OMG!! LOVE IT!!!!

And, yes, once you've used to your own mapped keys it's easy to control Geralt. Having played TW1 and TW2 also with KB+M helps, maybe....

I'm really liking the game it's awesome so far, but there are some minor things that I think could be improved/changed.

1. I know there were criticism on the controls of Witcher 2, which is mostly fixed in the Wild Hunt, but the overall control of Geralt outside combat still feels the same, unresponsive.
It's really sluggish, especially (turning) on tight and cramped spots. Navigating through that cansometimes be really hard. I don't know how the previewers who played the game didn't notice or mentioned this, for me it was the first thing I noticed.

2. Toggleable HUD with a hotkey.

3. Deactivating the the popup notice on the left corner with the device change (controller/m&k) would be nice, it's getting quite annoying after a while.

I can't think of more at the moment.

/e/:
not really a negative thing, but it would be nice to know where exactly the map ends, as I saw some portion of the map untouched and being forced to turn around. It could be just the prologue area though.

Not much negative to say but I haven't being playing long. I think the game is too saturated but I will fix that with SweetFX in the coming days. Besides that an annoying bug where the game freezing on me. Sound plays on but image just frozen and unable to move.

Other than that I am positively surprised so far :)
