Fixes for 2.1 and TW2EE Issues and 142 error or W2 stopped working Update 12/19/2014

this is just getting frustrating I've tried all solutions and steam solutions, i have no toolbars, i ran as admin both install and start up and everything else my steam version just wont work its still a "unable to start correctly 0xc0000142" and im on windows 7 help please

Hey, can someone please help me? I did a complete uninstall of The Witcher 2 because of a previous bug, I started fresh, updating to the EE from a clean v1.0; the install went fine until it said pack0.dzip was corrupt, so I went and downloaded Part 2 from the Manual Version of the EE to fix the bug, the Enhanced Edition then continued to install and eventually finished. However, every time I hit 'Launch Game,' from the Launcher, the Launcher minimizes, the Wolf's Head splashscreen appears, and the screen flickers black, and then I'm immediately returned to the desktop with the launcher at center-screen. ANY help would be appreciated...

If you can use Chrome it should let you upload multiple files or screenshots . I need to see all installed programs .

Yes... I don't have any Anti-Virus running... Nor do I have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed.

What about toolbars ? Or post screenshots of all installed programs or email the list to me . Either one works for me , might also list system specs . Might have asked for this before and if so all i can say is sorry ...so many posts it`s hard to keep up with .

Same problem. I have none of the software or files mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

I ordered via Gamer's Gate, but unfortunately they do not have TW2 EE available for TW2 owners to download yet.

Edit: I should mention, after applying the "Part2" from the Manual Patch to fix the pack0.dzip file, I was able to update TW2 to EE version, and instead of restarting, I went right into the game and saw the menu screen, everything looked good. Too tired to play, I quit and shut down the computer for the night. Today, I can't get past the launcher.

I emailed you the screenshots of all installed programs on my PC... Any help would be greatly appreciated... Should I try to reinstall Net Framework 4

Well reinstalling Netframework 4.0 didn't do anything... Does The Witcher 2 use NVIDIA PhysX? Cuz I've had that cause problems before, and uninstalling it fixed the problem.

Nope witcher 2 uses Havoc physics . I see absolutely nothing that would cause your issue in your programs list .
Have you tried the 3 GB switch for XP

I just tried the 3GB Switch and it didn't work. The game acted like it was going to launch, the screen went black, and then it threw me right back at desktop...

Do you have the latest CAP profile installed . Or have you tried using a single card .
