Quick update on the bribe issue - I've given up. I don't think it's fixable through the data files, but is in the savegame.
Well, I'm getting the 1000xp, AND the error shows up. Besides, it doesn't happen exactly when the quest is completing. You can just stand at the entrance of Flotsam, wait for "A rough landing" to be completed, "By the gods-Stringing up sods" pop up, wait a bit more, even meditate and level up if you want... no matter what you do, it's when you enter Flotsam that the bug shows up.SportyCat said:

EDIT: Spoke too soon, looks like there isn't any savegame editor for TW2, at least not on the Nexus. Would anyone know of an editor?
There isn't one. The ONLY solution that anyone has found so far is to start the game without going into it straight from the tutorial.
I started my first 2.0 run recently, going from the tutorial to the game, and naturally I got this glitch with the crime event and the "cursed" boots 
It's obvious what's wrong with the boots, but I was wondering about what's actually triggering the wanted flag.
I think one of the tutorial arena enemies might be a Flotsam guard - I guess they have a flag set on them that triggers the crime event.

On my 1st playthru I went thru the tutorial but messed up on the final part where you have to face off several waves until you're defeated and the game suggests a difficulty setting. On that playthru upon entering Flotsam I did not encounter that bug. The thing is I was defeated on the first wave and didn't kill any mob in that phase.
On my second playthru I stood for a long time on that final part and killed lotsa waves. This time around when entering Flotsam I ran into that guard and was forced to pay a 200 oren fine. Since I was comfortably carrying close to 1k orens with me I didn't bother and simply paid the bribe.
So yes the flag must be on one of the mobs you emcounter during the final tutorial phase.
OK, so I restarted Witcher but this time around I decided to play through the Tutorial (so that I would have more quests finished)... Big mistake! (apparently).
Now I'm stuck at the edge of Flotsam being capable neither to move forwards (into the city) or backwards without the guards trying to get a piece of my a$$.
I'm a bit too lazy to replay the prologue part (skipping the tutorial) so my question is what the consequences would be if was to simply pay the bribe? I started the game -this time around- so that to finish as many quests as it's possible, if paying the guards (now) would disable me from taking up certain quests (in the future) I would *have to* restart the game, if not I would simply pay the bribe and move onwards with my game.
So what say you? What should I do? I'm asking particularly those who did pay the bribe and continued their game. Any adverse effects (apart from the lost booty)?
