Right... Current 4K Ultra footages (especially screenshots as they don't have that much compression error) are pretty damn close to SoD for me. Character models are even better (Look at Emyhr's face). Of course some aspects are worse, some are better; but pretty damn close nonetheless. I mean, this screen should say it all...

Anyway, thanks for the clearence Marcin. I was thinking the PC Ultra looked bad (compared to other content out there) in that video. Even the videos from others sources are better. And you are saying that they are not even playing the latest version? That's impressive.

Once again, the visual fidelity is the same. There are saturation/contrast/sharpening changes. The graphics fidelity is the same, or even improved.

YouTube isn't the best place to look at graphics comparison to be frank.

This cannot be overstated enough. I think a lot of people don't realize just how much the YouTube compression affects the quality of the videos.

The best comparisons will be direct capture screenshots using a lossless compression format like .png..

Of course a E3 demo looks better! It is IN ENGINE not IN GAME graphic. Guys think: If a game is in development would you show what the best version of the game will look like or will you show the worst possible one? They worked hard for this game.
Please calm down, wait for the day one patch. The gameplay graphics from the let's playes look better than watch dogs ever did, so please chill!

Everything shown hasn't really came close to the SoD video (also on youtube, untarnished from youtube compression 'somehow'). Including 4k images, official screens etc. Nothing.

Thank you for your feedback and re-assuring PC gamers as the past few days have been hectic on the quality of the visuals compared to consoles...

My question actually as to do with cpu hardware...

How would let's say, a 6 core cpu ( 12 HT ) should do performance wise compared to a 4 core one ? Would it help having better frame rates with more visual options activated to compensate let's say with a mid-high range GPU ?

Guys if a PS4 video gets loaded onto Youtube, and a PC Video gets loaded onto Youtube. Realize they are both loaded onto Youtube... the compression is the same. The game's look would be equally bad. I think you're missing what we're getting at. We want a better looking PC version, because most PCs are better than PS4s... and you can set low medium high or ultra quality on a pc version apposed to a console version.

You do realize most of those are from VGX and not from SoD right?.. Current graphics are - like I said - pretty close to SoD. There are better and worse parts, but it's in no way in hell "not even close". VGX is a different story. It's completely different. I'm not refuting that.

No problem. Sorry - can't answer your question since I'm not a programmer but I'll tell you one thing. The moment you start playing and experience the game's beauty in silky smooth 60 fps, you'll know what I'm saying.

There is a concept called "diminishing returns". As you continue increasing the visual quality, more and more additions will go into "finer" details. And stuff like compression, artifacting and colour grading errors are exactly the thing that makes you unable to see these finer details. A 2K texture and a 4K one will look pretty damn close, if it's artefacted, and so on. That's why the best comparison tool is a screenshot. Preferably taken at the exact conditions and place, and presented with a slider in the middle.

The game doesn't even look close in terms of fidelity, the product shown recently is objectively inferior.

Sure, whatever floats your boats my man I'm happy with my eyes. Not saying yours are worse, they are probably better. I'm just happy that I'm not seeing this "objective" difference.

The games all GPU power, however, it looks like "mid-range" GPUs will be able to run it with ease.
