Maybe modders can fix it somehow.

Holy cow. It's even worse in that example. How the fuck no one notices this? Does everyone have a capable DLSS graphics card or wtf is going on??

I just Used Nvidia's Enhance application AA Setting and set it to 4x - sorted it out for me. But yeah, an option in menu wld be nice.

I don't think it did anything at all for me.

actually its looks like TAA sharpening, and just if we can adjust it, it should be fine

Got the same problem; it's really annoying.
EDIT : Screenshot of system specs included as requested. This issue Is probably unrelated to AMD neither Nvidia.

i'm starting to think some kind of bug happened and these Sharpening filters are turned on forever or something like this... i tried turning it on and off and there was no change to visuals

Russian moderator in similar thread advised turning off and on settings like chromatic aberration and film grain, but as we all know it doesn't help (of course it doesn't).
They just try to mitigate giving more work to do for developers, I can understand that, but you need to give them solid evidence that this is indeed a new problem which worth looking into.

yeah i sent them some more pictures of my settings and stuff, any new answer i'll be back...

ps: i did some tinkering in the options.json file and enabled global illumination range... it was high by default, i changed it to ultra and it looks a little better now, dunno why though, at least the world looks a little less "sharpened"

A lot of people think it's the TAA making the game blurry when it's not the real culprit. I'm sure it's partly to blame though. The real problem is the Chromatic Aberrations setting. Flip it off and watch what happens. Immediate image fidelity increase of 2-3x. I don't know who designed this garbage CA filter, but that's not what Chromatic Aberrations are supposed to look like. It's supposed to just be diffused colors, sometimes coupled with a sharpening of the effect. An effect of old late night talk show cameras. For some reason CDPR's version just blurs everything to hell and doesn't do very much diffusing or sharpening.

If you turn off the in-game one, and want to see what actual CA is supposed to look like, just install Reshade with the SweetFX shaders, and use the CA from SweetFX. You'll have to lower the strength though. By default it uses way too much. It's been awhile since I used it, but I remember a very light touch went a long way in adding some flare to games. Just be warned, it can be a little stressful on the eyes after long gaming sessions.

Not in this case, we actually want the opposite in this thread, the game was heavily sharpened in 1.04.
We have MANY options to make game less blurry and sharp, but since 1.04 patch we have NO option to make it less sharp.

(and yes CA in this game is too much, I agree)

the prolem here is that we kinda want our blurry game back ahahaha, and yes we turned all these on and off many times... i tried using reshade but not sucess, nothing is doin its just like there was a downgrade in the TAA quality

We kinda sound like crazy people, don't you think? :ROFLMAO:
But that's true, we want to play with original high quality textures visible, not sharpened with some cheap filters.
I want clean image, not blurry, not sharp, just clean. Maybe this game was developed to specifically use TAA, that sucks, but I'm ok with it, especially because players already have an option to disable it (via modding though).

ahahaha i always use TAA, it's better to my eyes... i dont like using nom temporal anti aliasing, it still left some borders and stuff like that, i dont like it, i like it when the hairs are fluffy, and every border is round, not to mention that the effects, and reflections look better to me like this.
the thing is that if it was a difference between TAA and FXAA, i could just enable the Nvidia AA and it would give this fluffy felling, but a TAA with this sharpening effect, urg its weird

I actually was very impressed by TAA with very high internal resolutions in RDR2. I'm playing it with medium TAA and x1.5 of my 1080p resolution scaling, which gives me only 30-40 fps on my GPU in heavy scenes, but since there are a lot of animations that play only in 30 frames it's ok. And the image is insanely crisp without any aliasing at all.
I guess it's the same in this game, but it's much more demanding on the hardware.
TAA with high resolution is magnificent, but with 1080p it's kinda meh.

Ok, we need to do something about it. Let's start with our basic system information, maybe we all have something in common.

MB: ASRock B450 Pro4
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: 8GBx2 Crucial Ballistix
GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Gaming Pro (undervolted)
SSD: 240GB Kingston A400
Two fullHD monitors, 75hz and 60hz
NVIDIA Driver version: 460.89
Windows 10 version: 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630)

I didn't optimize Cyberpunk in Geforce Experience (I don't use it for optimization for any game, left it disabled)
I have Geforce Experience overlay though (ALT+Z menu) Have tried disabling game filter, didn't help.

Bought game physically, activated code in GOG, downloaded the game, it was all fine. Then, when 1.04 update came I transferred my game to HDD, updated it and transferred it back to my SSD, verified game files and the game became oversharpened.
I uninstalled the game, downloaded 1.03 and 1.04 separately and tested it (https://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/juxtapose/latest/embed/index.html?uid=476ddb74-3fce-11eb-83c8-ebb5d6f907df). Nothing changed.
I don't know what else would impact it only for us... I have Lightbulb program, which makes desktop warmer at night, I also have MSI Afterburner RivaTuner running in the background. Nothing special.

Very disappointing. I noticed the image is over sharpened as soon as 1.04 patch arrived. Even the menu is over sharpened.
Before the patch I set 5% sharpening with Nvidia's software and the image was still quite blurry, and now it's not blurry at all, so it looks like 40%+ sharpening.

This grainy look, mostly noticeable on walls, floor and roads, can be eliminated by setting Screen Space Reflections Quality to Psycho. But this option is extremely GPU heavy, reduces performance about 30%. You can also turn it off, but obviously this is not the best solution, as you lose SSR.

If you have any friends who doesn't experience this problem on 1.04, please ask them to take a screenshot of nomad V with patch in their hand from the first cutscene like here - https://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/juxtapose/latest/embed/index.html?uid=476ddb74-3fce-11eb-83c8-ebb5d6f907df
It would be nice if they would provide 1920x1080 screenshot of this scene without any post effects enabled in the settings.
We also have a case of DLSS improving this problem, so ask them to disable it for this screenshot.
And if they have the time, ask them to include their basic PC specs as well as GPU driver version and things like that.
