Aah. I see. They wanted it to be some kind of information portal rather than a place where people share ideas. Sad. Very little hope for smileys then....

But i think that that the forum can be an information portal WITH smileysI also noticed in one of your posts you stated that your post was censored . For the most part have a look at the terms of use located on the main page very bottom on the right side

Yeah. I wish for smileys too. But it's also true that many people abuse smileys and sometimes entire posts consist of dumb smileys. It's because of them we don't have smileys. But I still want them. I want them. I want them. *Waaah*Yeah I noticed the terms. I just think it's odd that we cannot use terms like c*ockatrice because it contains "c*ock". I once said "Don't go into the battle half-c*ocked", and it got censored. I mean, that's a little sad, is all....

I`m sure that there is a way to limit the number of smileys included in a post. Say for instance no more than 2

Aside from that maybe they thought smileys didn't go well with the dark theme and badass looking concept art. I'm not trying to justify the lack of smileys, don't get me wrong. Since there are no smilies for long I've been using urbandictionary.com to find smileys in written form like this: o_O or these: (°_°)'j ¬_¬

It still sucks. If they removed smileys for a "badass" persona, it's just retarded.

Actually it’s because whoever made that decision seems to be a prick who thinks that he knows better than us.

Indeed, it’s an outright ... cockblock :D Or something like that. But yeah, this is one way of showing why censorship is clucking retarded. I mean if you absolutely have to patronize us like little children (which we aren’t, at least according to the terms of agreement when you register) at least use a word filter that only censors full words and not every term that includes the same sequence of letters. Otherwise you’ll get stupid outcomes like a censored cockatrice when censoring cock. Or how about the third President of the Continental Congress :B What’s his name again? Ah, I know, John *******.By the way, did they fix this?

I went on forum on Nov. 18, and either because of new members, or because of everyone's excitement, the one of the most important principles of this forum has been abandoned: Don't make new threads if there already is one+don't post something a hundred times. I see a lot of preorder/system requirements/..... threads, and same people posting the same stuff everywhere (seasmugod as an example). I suggest it's time for moderators to do their jobs, or straightforwardly tell me that it is okay.

I think the excitement over TW2 is a good thing. In normal times, it's not a good idea to make a new thread for stuff that's covered in another thread or to say the same thing many times, but CDPR is TRYING to whip up excitement, and I think what you're seeing in the forum is the natural result of that excitement.Personally, I'm answering questions even if I just answered the same question in another thread two minutes ago. I WANT people to be too excited about TW2 to practice good forum hygiene. :) I figure we can go back to our usual way of doing business on Monday.

I agree that excitement is a good think here. My point is, that we should make sure there IS a Monday when we go back to busyness. If you disbelieve me, just look at DA2 forum. I don't think it's like an urgent problem, or something we should be worried much about. The important think is to understand just what happens, as some people might trail off and never look back. I'm personally grateful for your community work here, it helped me back in August. Reminds me of a Jewish joke about a man vising a Walmart 15 minutes before a holiday to buy some wine. Briefly, he gets distracted, and piles up all the items he sees in the store only to discover that he's almost late. He doesn't have any time to check his products, and so runs off without buying anything.

Don't want to rant, but this Monday came and gone and while the activity is down a bit, I see no change in behavior whatsoever. I guess I said my point, so I'm not wasting any more space.

Um..are you telling me this is the first time you saw this happen? You cannot expect the same level of maturity from everyone. Some people just like to be heard distinct and apart, though they might not have anything new to say. If you don't want to listen to them, don't. Just don't open the posts. Eventually they'll sink into the abyss of oblivion. Surely this is not an issue.....

It's definitely not the first time I saw this happen. Although what you offer is a good and sound fix of problem, I rather preferred before. What I disagree with you on, is that I should just forget about it. 1). I lost no more than 5 minutes stating my point.2). My issue is with moderators who keep silent about it. It's their job to do it, and I just don't understand them.Peace

Clarification; By abyss of oblivion I meant page 2,3,4 etc.In time these posts, without any replies, will slowly be pushed to the back pages. I did not mean you should TRY to forget them I meant you WILL forget them in time. Why amputate something that will be shed naturally? While it's true that removing such threads will make the overall space tidy, it also fuels unfounded accusations of misuse of power by moderators etc. Believe me, I know first hand. It's a delicate issue, and mods like threads to die natural deaths.

We differ. It's not a problem with a definite answer and we will not accomplish anything by arguing this. Actually I agree with all those cases when mods asked you to stop. I think it improved both the forum, and freed you some time.So ceasefire.

Gather 'round children. Let me tell you a story. There was once a Witcher Forum, wild, untamed, untouched. Slowly, with the march of civilization, sentient beings settled, and worked hard to tame the land. And then, there were conflicts. The ultimate destiny of any society.Fire and steel clashed and nourished the soil with bones, and colored the rivers with blood. But there was always the fear of Mods that brought some semblance of reason. Most Mods left mortals to themselves. But there was one Mod, Seeker, whose avatar often brought Modly vengeance to the evil. It was primarily His fear that kept all conflicts within bounds.Good cannot exist without evil. Mods cannot exist without Demut. A being of immense power, Demut's power was fed by the flux of chaos of human bloodshed and conflict. He reveled in human misery and thirsted for more. Often he stalked burnt homesteads and festering battlefields to feast on the unfortunate souls of the fallen. A great mage, Vilgefortze, powerful, but of a fiery temperament fueled the fires of many such wars. Many believed his powers were of a Demutic origin, that he willingly served the Dark One. The truth was never really known. After a lifetime of conflict , when he finally died, it is said he showed no remorse, for he had done it all in good faith, and not to serve the Demut. Though possibly pure at heart, his actions nonetheless served Demut's cause, for mere mortals are often only tools in the hands of greater beings of Celestial or Infernal origin.
