Sooo~ooo~oooo... why am I able to disable people's avatars, signatures, and other stuff like that, but the ugly rep buttons can't be disabled? Yellow and red are the worst colors they could have chosen. Well, except for salmon, obviously, but SALMONpoints would be hilarious. I liked the idea that what people said in the old forum had to stand on its own, and that was one of the reasons I preferred this forum over the old Witcher one and the GOG forums, but if we're going to have rep, shouldn't we at least have the option to disable it?

Besides, Sandyrawr is totally abusing it and giving REDpoints to everyone. I keep telling him that no one will buy the cow if he gives the milk away for free, but I'm not confident that the metaphor will hold up to scrutiny.

I've tried using my ad blocker to block that part of the page, but the CSS I have to block is reused and ends up blocking the user name, avatar, and all that jazz, too. I'd never know who I was talking to if I went that route. Can't we just have the old, non-cluttered, non-McDonaldized forum back? Or at least an option to disable the new stuff?

Seems like an improvement to me, especially now that I can edit and use the search function with some degree of success. Navigating makes more sense as well. What do you mean 'what people said in the old forums had to stand on its own?' Do you want the previous forums back or the original Witcher forums of yore? Do we really go to heaven after we die? Did Suzie Jenkins really have a crush on me in the 3rd grade? So many questions...

You remember way back in the forum-wide heated topics (like the piracy threads) where there were rolling waves of rep as people just went through and +1ed everything they agreed with? That was always a bit annoying, and I preferred the way this Cyberpunk forum was before the update because something like that couldn't happen; if you had a problem with something or agreed with something before the update, you had to use your words to communicate why. No lazy rep stuff indicating that "this post and that post are the good ones," but actual dialogue where all posts were equal until the content of that post proved otherwise. I suppose it's a pet peeve of mine.

This place hasn't changed that much because of the update, but the new colors all clash, the new details under avatars make everything busy-looking, and the rep thing is a huge irritation to me. Seems to me they could nix the "thanks" and "REDpoints" while keeping the search and edit improvements you mentioned (or at least allow the option to hide all that stuff, because I'm honestly never going to use any of it).

Of course not. When you die, you become a ghost and then graduate to purgatory once you've haunted enough people. Purgatory is a waiting room of sorts, and the specific magazines you choose to pass the time reading determine which of the five heavens you eventually end up in. There's the Home and Gardening heaven, the Guns and Ammo heaven, the Fashion heaven, the Animal Lovers heaven, and the Video Game heaven.

She did at first, but you didn't show enough interest. That's why she moved on to Teddy. Of course, that didn't last, and her inability to get over you shattered her confidence, setting off a chain reaction that ended with an unhappy marriage to some white trash in a wife beater. Should have showed more initiative in the 3rd grade, Slim.

To be honest, the biggest problem at TW was that people could upvote themselves.

That was definitely an unbelievably stupid way to design things, yes, but was that really worse than the bad blood and anger-ness-osity that arose from some people getting upvoted in heated threads while other people got downvoted (or just left alone)? It seemed to me that it made things a bit more personal to some people, but maybe I was reading too much into it. Sure, there are no downvotes now, but I've yet to see anyone ever provide an argument for why rep is a good thing in the first place. It just seems so superfluous and shallow.

Speaking of superfluous and shallow... "achievements." You probably know by now how I feel about achievements. I swear, CDPR are openly mocking me.

Anyway, if nuking isn't a legitimate option, I'd settle for a way to hide all of that new stuff.

EDIT: For reference, this is the most I've managed to do so far. Hiding the yellow and red was a good start, and removing the text under the avatar made things look a bit better, but the bottom entries each have a unique number that prevents me from blocking them in the same way. Seems to be a limitation of Adblock Plus.

I love the redpoints and thanks! NOT ONLY is it kind of garish, NOT ONLY is there no limit or reason to who I thank and how often NOT only do thanks and redpoints seem redundant, (I guess thanks are like a lesser redpoint, because it doesn't add to your total?), BUT. BUT. BUT.

You get a notification EVERY time I thank you! AahahaahahahahH! Ahhhh. God, it's pesky, isn't it? Thank you, Reds. Thank you soooo much.

Anyway.

Dragon or Greggy or Tomtom or whoever, the links in Wisdom's section seem borked. I would extrapolate that will apply to all the links from the old forums.
Also, when you hit the adorable house icon, it don't work too good.

If all of this has been noted before, how unimportant until I noted it.

Lastly, did we or did we not have a multiplayer poll at one time? I cannot find the damn thing. There is no good unleashing Redge on the unwitting if they can't find the thread we're yelling at them to necro, damn it! Let me search by Poll or something.

Wellup, time to go wander the forums and redpoint the heck out of Slim and TooTooTutu. Wheee!

None of the polls seem to have survived. It would appear that there can be only one. New polls work. It isn't clear yet if a bit of necromancy will fix the polls so I'm hesitant to mess about with them until we get the all clear. If ever.

Noted on the Wisdom links. Yup, all links are probably messed up because of the domain change. We'll look into fixin'. Anyone who is in a position to edit links in their OWN previous posts is welcome to do so.

The house icon is already being taken care of.

And, with the right settings, notifications are almost invisible, so your strategy isn't working. You may as well give up.

The problem I had with the rep system was the passive aggressive nature of down voting. If you really don't like a post, take the time to explain why. On the other hand, Sard is like Santa Claus with these red points. Him and his...bag.

Giggle. HOW many people are going to be as aware as you, Flaming Reptile of Clarity? 1 in 5? 1 in 10? Of course, the ones I like to torment most -will- be those ones...if only it were in some way fun to pester the dumb. Curse my rarified tastes!

Obviously, I'll have to re-do all the polls then! In my...preferred style.

Heh. Slim has 65 red tips. SO many from my bag alone. Ahhh. I look at at that and smile.

Ew. Now that I think about it, it's really concerning that Sallystruthers is running around with a bag filled with inexplicably sticky stuff that he keeps showering forum members with.

I think... I'm going to go shower. Still, as long as it's annoying and borderline-harassment, I'm totally down with it because it furthers my anti-rep goals. Viva la whatever the hell this is!

Super late edit: Looking at this post again, I couldn't help but notice that I made a terrible mistake; that last part should should have said "Viva la repolucion," and I deeply apologize for missing such an obvious pun. I'll strive to do better in the future, and again, my deepest apologies to all of you. This post doesn't live up to or adequately reflect the high standard of wordplay-filled dickishness that I consistently strive for, and efforts will be made to both rectify this lapse and prevent any future missed puns.

While laughing hysterically at Slim's many RPs, I looked at the achievements and noticed that "received" is spelled wrong:

Come on, guys. I before E except after C (or when sounded as "a," as in neighbor and weigh).

MY GOD.

He's right.

I wonder if the mods can track out who gave away the most of these sticky reddish things. I bet they can and won't tell us our totals.

Soo..guys, (Chris, really), did you have to manfully resist the urge to go through your friends list, flip open all their posts and redpoint everything you saw? That took a lot of my self control.

Really, I figure I was -quite- restrained. Mostly just on one guy. Mostly.

Not that everything this person said wasn't worthy of recognition. I mean, 8,000 posts, that shows a deep commitment!

Not jealous.

There is a bug I would like to report, somehow in my months long absence, at some point, Chriswebb managed to get a higher post count than me, I don't like it, it was bad enough when Sard managed it.... I suspect glitching, hacking, possibly even satanic pact.... but the problem must be dealt with...

You may not have noticed it yet, but all of us infiltrators from the Witcher side now have a higher post count than you too. You're just going to have to work harder.
