Why can't we have a higher FOV or further back camera? answer this question.

In 1996 a game was released named Quake. It had a FOV option. Its 2012 now and a developer makes a game for one aspect ratio with an unchangeable low field of view. You have obviously had time and resources for making patches and this huge enhanced edition. You obviously care about your customers by providing a DRM free game, and making some gameplay changes people wanted such as extending act 3. BUT YOU DON'T DO SHIT WITH THIS FUCKED UP ZOOMED IN CAMERA WE HAVE TO LOOK THROUGH. I bought The Witcher and then bought the enhanced edition just to support you guys! I convinced 5 people I know in real life to buy The Witcher and probably 25 online posting about how fucking great it is. I buy The Witcher 2 only to open it for the first time with disgust, the feeling of not being able to play the sequel to my favorite RPG. OK OK I say to myself, they will fix it with a patch. Patches come and go but the FOV doesn't change nor does the camera go any further back. OK OK I say to myself, surely the enhanced edition will resolve this lifelong problem generally only experienced with console ports. The enhanced edition brings many things but FOV/extended camera is not among them. OK OK I say to myself, someone across all of the internet has had to found a way to mod or hack this issue. But no, nearly 1 year after purchase and I still cannot play The Witcher 2. This is my last effort to try to bring attention to this issue. I'm sorry for my harsh words but writing this without them would be a lie. CD PROJECT RED, I say this with the last drop of hope I have remaining, please, for the love of all that's good - add an option to increase the FOV or have the camera further back.

The Witcher 2 v.1.2 with the flawless fix was fantastic!!!

I use a 1920x1200 monitor and being able to play with the same horizontal view as 1920x1800 plus an extra 120p lines was perfect!! very hard going back.

I assume on reason they will not implement this feature is that it may upset some people on 16:9 monitors not being able to view the extra 120 lines us 16:10 uses have. (cant please everyone? )

I suppose the obvious fix would be to have a zoom funtion.

FOV is one of the more common issues that devs never fix for the PC, a lot of the time it's crossplatform laziness.

@moray7 I have been holding my breath too for a mod / patch.... I played one run through with the flawless patch and have been waiting patiently since hoping for a mod or patch for my second play through..

unfotunatly the FOV discussions always seem to be a sore point and tend to cause arguments with various people saying its not possible due to engine design etc.
but if the flawless mod succeded surely the developers could give us this option?
I find it strange that they seem to have avoided the subject ,
they provided a cropped option for 16:10 and 4:3 but avoided or did not want to reply to requests for a options similair to waht flawless provided us with.

don't think they'll be such a "fix" since they repeatedly ( through support ) said they don't see it as an issue |

we had this discussion a while back, don't re-open it, also black bars are a choice versus smaller fov, keep that in mind
