This has to be the biggest disappointment in gaming history since the Mass Effect 3 endings. I would never expect this from CDPR. But then, nobody expected ME3 endings from Bioware. I guess it's best to not be so hyped about games from now on.

How are the two even comparable?

i think he means this video
Bus srls after some people posting and trying somehow prof that TPP is just better for rpg's or some shit. Any reason or answer for why its FPP will not satisfy some of people here. They just cant comprehend how they imagined it will be TPP and its not TPP. And i think those people are lost hype was just to much to process for them, game was doomed to fail nothing can satisfy people like this, because it somehow betrayal, slap in face. I guess after seeing one cgi trailer in 2013 they already knew what game will be. Perspective, classes how game world will look etc. "Yeah its new IP game from CDPR but i already know what it well be, I seen one cgi trailer!"... Now i can understand why valve don't want to make HL3

Wow, this thread has had 64k views, thats a rather large number for something about camera placement. Seems to me to be a rather important topic to people, at least from what i seen, either way i still strongly support TPP because thats been my preference in years of gaming

Almost like there's no reason not to include both perspectives and satisfy everyone

Other than the fact that there is an opportunity cost in resources for having both, particularly if you are changing a game that has been designed for some time with FPP in mind.

Cyberpunk has a brand new state of the art dialogue system everything is context sensitive we have never seen anything like it.
It never leaves ffp during dialogue and your free to look around and spot things that will alter the conversation quests given to the player can change based on this.
For example you meet someone ask if they are alone they say yes but look nervous you look around and spot a sniper and that dynamically changes the dialogue options you have wouldn't work in tpp

The cost for this, when compared to that of the overall game, would be insignificant, especially because they'll have most of the third person protagonist animation in the game regardless.

This is why maybe CDPR should think about releasing some gameplay footage.

How do you know that? Besides animations are only part of the issue, a first person combat doesn't work in third person.

Well, for one, the people defending BioWare's ending also claimed that the people against it were a 'vocal minority' and that a poll on the forum with 70-80% of the vote clamoring for a change 'wasn't indicative of the majority opinion'.

Sounds oddly familiar.

after all a dev already replied that they'll keep in mind the feedback received, we can always hope, there's time till release.

The transition to TP for shooting elements would be relatively painless. The only thing that would need some work are the melee segments.

you want CDRP satisfy everyone or just you? Because we cant talk how far we can take with "satisfy everyone"

I doubt you have any knowledge about how and what costs in video game development.

I mean, BioWare eventually "acknowledged" the feedback.. by patching in a giant middle finger to the fans out of spite. And they only did so after losing a sizable chunk of sales and a ton of people demanded refunds.

Yeah, Bioware is not exactly the best argument for CDPR listening to the fans...

Neither are Blizzard or EA, for that matter. Blizzard in particular can be viciously vindictive.

Well, we know for a fact that multiplayer is being worked on for the sake of being added in post-launch as additional content. Which means they are literally working on content that involves being able to see other players' models, which in turn means that they'll have developed animations for player models - assuming they haven't already done so anyway.

Snap, you got me, I only care about myself, and every time I said they should include both perspectives so that everybody gets what they want was a lie. You're a shrewd one, arent you?

I don't, but I know a thing or two about 3d modeling and animating and I can draw a reasonably accurate comparison to the rest of work on the game.

This is assuming they just don't make you choose one of the existing pre-rendered characters. Even some TPP games do that.

The entire dialogue system is dynamically built around fpp there are people who saw the same scene in the demo about a meeting with a mobster and had at least half a dozen different outcomes from triggering a dialogue scene losing trust because they checked out a gun someone was holding down to been given a completely different quest to earn back trust.
