Since they seem disinclined to comply with TPP, perhaps the more productive way to make them listen would be to figure out ways that can help the situation as much as it can without them having compromise their vision. I.e. what kind of gameplay design elements could ease the motion sickness.

21:9 support, mouse/gamepad sensitivity, head bobbing ON/Off and FOV settings, having a good pc build for high FPS, longer pauses after playing/shorter gameplays, sit FAR from the screen, medicines (talk to your doctor first, OFC)

They posted it AFTER they said in multiple videos that they cannot add tpp because reasons.

So it looks like a weak attempt at damage control at best. Giving false hope (just to turn it against us later and say it was all in our heads) at worst.

(Will be happy if I'm proven wrong and surely post apologies for comparing them to EA in some posts)
I said this before, they want feedback as to why you want TPP, a lot of it is just "I want to see my character", they can use this information to improve their photo mode for example, to let people see their characters whenever they want

The people that are right now saying that they don't want the FP perspective also have motion sickness or they just don't want the FPP?

Because if that's the case you are not entitled to change the whole basis of a game just because you want the game in your own way. You are saying also that it looks like Projekt Red doesn't listen? are you serious? is one of the few companies that actually listen to their fans.

Because having it be an option is totally taking away FPP.

I would say, some and some.

Assuming that everyone here understands that this is a free forum, like we are in a free country in a free continent, noone is entitled to force anyone to do anything. This means that everything being said in this topic belongs to the opinion/academic area.

That said, every opinion matters. This means that noone should have preferred lanes, not the FPP supporters, not the people -like me- affected by motion sickness, not the people that just hate FPP and want TPP. We are just arguing and giving reasons for one thing or another, but ultimately it's the developer's call to decide if the arguments we all put on the table are worthy of rethinking the game or not.
And, after almost 3000 (THREE THOUSANDS) posts -i've NEVER seen such a big topic in my entire life- i think they have more than enough material to pick a definitive course of action.

So, i think we should stop arguing between us, because everything that could have been said, has been said, and DEMAND (yes, i typed it right, DEMAND) a definitive answer from the developers.

Cheers to everybody

Because having it be an option is totally taking away FPP.

But you are basically demanding TPP to be implemented, now even making petitions and stuff, not just asking, demanding.
What if the people at CD Projekt Red have decided that the third person perspective was not the right way to go in Cyberpunk because of the city, small alleways or tiny spaces and such. TPP is still in the game, FPP is the focused field of view, that's all.

An over the shoulder style camera for indoor areas would solve that problem. And the best part is, if you feel like the third person camera is feeling too cramped, you can always switch back to first person. That's the beauty of making it optional.

Is over the shoulder camera restricted or can you move it around? Of course if your reasoning what "technical" as if engine is not capable, and it only option they shouldn't do it. If you are somehow convinced that CDPR has to do it because it possible at technical level yeah you won't find any reason.

It is not 'just want', it is just as valid reason as 'immersion' and 'good shooting' - all subjective things and none is more important than the other.

You should check yourself. I'm not demanding anything.

Have they said anything about first-person perspective having full body awareness, i.e. actually seeing your body rather than just your arms and hands in front of you when handling a weapon or interacting with the game world? I mean, it's obvious they care about the appearance of the player's V, given how they mention what you could customize about them since the setting itself does put a lot on how someone looks, so it wouldn't make sense for them to not let us view ourselves when we want.

Personally, I want both FPP and TPP for very shallow reasons. TPP when I want to see my character interact with the world, pause/freeze the game and take screenshots (you all know you'll be doing the same as well) and FPP when I want to see the world itself in all its glory, with all the details, without anything standing in the way, including V.

I won't boycott the game if it's FPP only, so long as they let us use Ansel for it, like Witcher 3, or some other form of photo mode.

I'm seeing people that are starting to ask for less (like only having third person out of combat, being forced back to first person when fighting, etc) , since we aren't getting a clear answer from them. Even if nothing can be done, I wouldn't do that, because that will lead to people still being unhappy. If you want third person, ask for third person. Like they said, they want our HONEST feedback.

A lot of games has similar things, but they're still TPP.

And still, we don't wanna take FPP away from you. We wanna have TPP for us, dude. Don't be like that.

I get it, more people to enjoy the game the better, but if they've worked with FPP as a focus in the game then there is no way they can start working in a TP perspective without delaying the game.

Maybe they surprise us, wouldn't be the first time :)

Hello there guys o/,

tbh at this point those petitions are ridicules, given the votes in the poll, most
of the gamers bothering anticipating, swaying direction FP RPG and BOTH
not counting the I DO NOT CARE in.

We didn t even see ANY actual gameplay and you
all already judging the game by this one bloody point. You even listen to the
guys who have seen the demo? I suppose not.... at this point this whole perspective
thing here went full out of hand.

I personally want to see the gameplay first and how the FPP looks and feels in
combination with the already TPP pieces in that game. Also given Deus Ex HR
for example, this rage here (yes it is) should really slow down.

at this point, i am with the devs

EOL
So long

Gonna leave this here again:

It's amazing how many people cannot comprehend that you cannot define other people's experiences for them.

This is literally like me saying "I find the color red more jarring than blue," and someone responding "No, you find blue more jarring."

If having a third person perspesctive is more immersive for me than first person you dont get to say "No, it isnt."
It is for me.
And that's why I find the whole immersion justification so bizarre.
