Oh, it's real. I get it when trying to read or watch a movie in a car. (FPP doesn't bother me, though.)

A doctor years ago told me to try reading or watching the screen with sun glasses on. It works like a charm for me. Something about the way the brain processes the peripheral vision. By putting a "lens / filter" close to the eye, the brain focuses more on the plane of the sunglasses, and not the perceived depth of the world moving around the vehicle. It really works. I can read for hours in a car like that, but if I take them off and look at the book, I get very sick within about 60 seconds.

Try it! (Just don't use polarized lenses for screens. :p Trippy.)

I get it during certain movie techniques; the Hobbit movies are completely unwatchable because of this. It really doesn't help a lot of the "advanced effects" are only processed that way for me. So I get a weird-looking movie that literally makes me sick instead of the enjoyable experience many got.

It also strikes a lot with many VR games. Saves me a lot of money, though! No fancy VR glasses for me!

Honestly, I wish that TPP were an option for those who get sick from it. Maybe in a future patch? It wouldn't be the first game to patch in an alternate camera mode.

Wonder if people would be willing to wait an extra 2, 3 years for the game to release, and pay an extra 10, 20, 30 euros for it, just to get to play it in third person mode?

Or, is it just a case of, "I want this additional feature immediately, for no extra cost."

I don't think that money is problem, but time/resources definitely. They would need to make third person animations for both male and female in highly vertical world...

Here's the thing though: If they are going to do some form of multiplayer (which they have confirmed but not specified) gameplay, then that would most likely involve being able to see the other players, and their characters.. which would mean that - unless they want some "immersion breaking" low-quality animations during that gameplay - they would have character animations made as well.

I am with option to switch. But.. i don't want to make any assumption right now just becoz , we haven't seen gameplay.
It might actually not contrast to be in FP if we get the idea if how the game is. There are many FP games and still every one of them has different variation to it so, Just wait for gameplay demo . But i agree with Character view bocz it add a lot the immersion for me. Customization feels more rewarding in TP view and while going out and roaming in the city watching your character with world add so much feel to it. But thats for me i can undestand what they trying to do with FP, so am gonna wait for demo to actually talk or criticise about how it is, unless now. But i do prefer TP for everything else as we can kind of see our character communication with world from that view. if they have a vision of FP immersion for this i actually want to see how it is. But It will be good to have a option , as Immersion for player actually defers P2P.

They could pull a Pokemon and make you pick from existing characters instead of using your own. Even some TPP games do that.

I wonder if they are setting the stage for a VR version that will work on the next gen consoles.

I mentioned this earlier, but please. :prayhands:

If they're going all in on first person perspective, let me really feel like a console cowboy and go all out with a goofy headset.

If I had to wait longer or pay extra I would do so without question, FPP is a kick to the nuts for me.

They did not say this. Stop lying to people. Where’s the link to the livestream they said it?
They most definitely did. I've seen every single interview so far, and they've said it repeatedly.

Geoff cut them off in the last interview, but there will be TPP in vehicles as an option (FPP is possible too) and in some cutscenes (But not all).

So it's a funny thing.

CDPR is in the job of providing entertainment. To us, their consumers. TO do this, they MUST figure out what we like and then make us happy. But, we don't really tell them very well. Too many of us.

So this gives them the job of telling us what we will like and then showing us. That's really the creators job. EVERYONE here has liked something they didn't used to like - that's change and growing old, if nothing else.

Whether it was alcohol or liver and onions or boys/girls or pistachio ice cream. Everyone.

Now CDPR has decided that we will like First Person best. And by us, I mean the majority of their audience.

It is surprising, yes. But they are good at their jobs and I respect that. See what they can do.

As for those of us who get sick, that sucks. It really does. The -best- I can offer is what Google has told me and that yeah, it's a real issue. Give CDPR some time, see if they can address it.

They aren't implementing FPP to appeal to people. They are doing it for immersion. That's their own words.

In other words, it was a creative decision, not a financial one.
Since when does FPP equal immersion? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought immersion was a combination of sound, visuals, the game world feeling lived in and a rich and though out backstory for the setting and people. All of which CDPR did in the Witcher 3.

I didn't say that, they did.

I know you aren't a god, but if there is ANY way you could get in touch with SOMEONE with some pull and beg them to implement a wide FOV slider (110 is ideal) and the ability to disable head bobbing, I would be eternally grateful. You have no idea how much that would help.

CDPR, if anyone is listening to those of us with actual motion sickness (and not those who say they have it so they have an excuse to be anti-FPP, which I'm not saying is the majority but oh boy suddenly theres a lot more of us than I thought), I'm telling you even little adjustments like what I just mentioned can eliminate or drastically reduce the problem.

I would, as a matter of fact, considering the fact that my alternative is to not play it at all. But hey, if CDPR doesn't want my money, then that's their business decision, not mine.

I am with CD Project on this. Seriously, would Skyrim or Fallout be less awesome if it had only first person view? Grow up people and stop whining about a game based on the freaking camera.

To people saying they aren't gonna buy this due to the first person camera,I think you should have never been interested in this game in the first place
Wow wow wow?stop

They said this in e3 coliseum search it in YouTube...they didn't even acknowledge the problem they straight on said it's not possible.. Geoff even was laughing when they said it's an fps,he too knows how ridiculous a fps RPG sounds

Just for me personally...

The waiting would be harder on me than the money factor. I'd already planned on getting whatever absurdly expensive collector's edition they came out with. I've been collecting the statues in such editions to decorate my nerdy, man-boy heaven, domicile.

I mean, it could be because of money.. just the future profits kind. First-Person is a very 'safe' direction to take a game. It's pretty much taken over as the default mechanic to appeal to casual, mainstream audiences.

Heck, the crew behind Wasteland 2 even poked fun of it in their Kickstarter video where they staged an accurate portrayal of what it's like for isometric RPG devs going before publishers and wanting to make their game - just about the first question out of the publishers' mouths is "So it'll be first-person, right?"
Now it's just conspiracy theories at this point, though possible one's. Now by the sounds how much, detail their going for and the depth of said mechanics. It seems like it's anything but simple or mainstream. Especially when it comes to the RPG cyberpunk elements.
