I didn't say that, they did.

I know you aren't a god, but if there is ANY way you could get in touch with SOMEONE with some pull and beg them to implement a wide FOV slider (110 is ideal) and the ability to disable head bobbing, I would be eternally grateful. You have no idea how much that would help.

CDPR, if anyone is listening to those of us with actual motion sickness (and not those who say they have it so they have an excuse to be anti-FPP, which I'm not saying is the majority but oh boy suddenly theres a lot more of us than I thought), I'm telling you even little adjustments like what I just mentioned can eliminate or drastically reduce the problem.

@Vattier @Marcin Momot
I know and I apologize if I came off as if was attacking you. Its just frustrating to constantly here people say "1st person means better more IMMERSIVE gameplay."

I do hope the lack of TPP results in fewer sales and a backlash. People can rant all they want about how they don't like a thing, but if they go out and spend their money on it anyway, that shows what they really think.
It won't because most gamers are suckers, and most people are making a way bigger deal out of something inconsequential in reality and will end up not caring when they buy the game anyways.

besides, people who primarily play shooters will crossover too. CD Projekt aint losing any sleep over losing the sales of a few people throwing forum tantrums.

Ok. I just want to add one (maybe) last thing. I would love to have option to play tpp. But, as much as I would love to see booty of my female character I can live without it. I will endure. It will be hard, but I can do it. BUT... If in final product, it will come out that REDS have enough money, time and resources to include, lets say, some more "progressive" elements into game (like some people were suggesting already), but not for tpp mode, I will lose my shit. I will be running around in my undies and stabbing people eyes. You dont want to see this.

I won't buy the game, but can I come over to your place and play it? I'll try not to make too much of a mess over your keyboard when my motion sickness kicks in.

Note: I'm kidding, of course, just in case someone decides to take lighthearted bants as somehow being insulting.

Honestly, I think they posted the "we're listening" purely in an attempt to calm the situation. I can't see how they have any intention of really listening at this point, not without delaying the game another 2-3 years (or more)

Im inclined to agree with you but i have a tiny little bit of hope left... maybe its because ive been too excited for this game for a long time and the hype was so high... but really i dont want FPP migraines...

I really hope CD Projekt doesn't concede to the overreacting minority here. This is silly and they shouldn't compromise their vision because a bunch of non-adventurous gamers are too scared to step outside their small comfort zone.

aye they said no, but they didnt say, "we wont take feedback"

Right. But we can't exactly go off by what they didn't say, now can we? They also didn't say "we'll be listening to feedback and perhaps we'll change our minds."

I know the post you mentioned though, it was this one:

We understand your concerns and we value your feedback about TPP - we'll keep it in mind. Thank you!

That also doesn't say that they'll be changing their design decisions based on feedback. It just says they value the feedback and will keep it in mind.

Still, I suppose everything is always possible, but, as said, can't really make up stuff, have to go by what has been stated.

Mind you, as long as I can play it in first person, and as long as developing it for third person doesn't affect my enjoyment and my gameplay and ruin the first person experience, I'd personally be more than fine with there being both options. If it doesn't take away from me, why would I want to take away from others?

Yeah, sorry for not quoting your post (it was a few pages back...)
Personally, I'm going with just ' trodes, keeps the worst of the black ice at bay

Yeah, no worries. The :p wasn't meant in a snippy manner, I wanted to convey the corny mobile praying emoji, even though I knew it's not available on these forums. I figured not

First of all D:

but also:

But, as much as I would love to see booty of my female character I can live without it. I will endure. It will be hard

Sounds like your problem is that it won't be hard. :sneaky:

Somewhat disappointed with FP, but the truth is I play their games for about a hundred other reasons so the perspective choice is definitely not keeping me away. Also, I'd point out they had the good sense to allow toggle for driving and doing conversations in cinematic cutscenes.

It's been a few years and I'm sick at the moment, so maybe the cough medicine is messing up my brain, but I recall all the ME games being third person.

Am I just hallucinating here?
Yeah I know...this guy may be confusing shooter with fps.....or may be the guy has no idea of video games or maybe he mistyped T with f

Well, been fun all. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and perspectives. Signing out for the night. Guess we'll wait and see what happens.

go ahead. literally it's simply just a matter of increasing the FOV. Seriously. that's the only functional difference between third person and first person in terms of motion sickness.

Yeeaahh, nope. I've messed with FOV before. Didn't do a damned thing to alleviate my motion sickness, sorry. Hope you have a good mop!

Well then, that sucks, but do understand that you're an extreme minority and well...unfortunately, it's not CD Projekt's responsibility to make sure that EVERY single person get's to experience their art. People with epilepsy can't play certain games, that doesn't mean devs should rework everything. If you're born too tall or too short, you don't get to ride the roller coaster. Harsh, but true.

I sympathize, because you have the ONLY legit complaint here, but everyone whining that it ruins immersion or breaks combat or ruins situational awareness? yeah, no, not on board.

Same, although I worry about melee combat. Nearly always done poorly in FPP.

Legitimately curious here, but can you think of any First Person games that did melee well? Honestly the only remotely satisfying melee first-person game I remember trudging and dryheaving my way through was Bioshock 2, and that was just because of the drill-arm. And even that was slow and sluggish, which made sense because of the character you were playing (i.e. immersive because it fit the character).

Yeah, that's my only real issue here. I wanted this to feel like Ghost in the Shell, but it sounds like it'll feel more like Deus Ex. And that's fine, I love Deus Ex! But I wanted the game to have more of its own identity.

Arkane Studios games have good first person combat. Dishonored/Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, etc.
