Framerate on Xbox One (patch 1,04)

Am I really the only one getting extremely bad fps? When fighting monsters in rain and fog, heavy graphical areas, using witcher sense, using a torch inside caves and outside also and so on. Almost everywhere when there are lots of things going on at the same time.
Now I have had both the PS4 and now the Xbox One version, and as I see it both are no where near keeping a stable 30 fps. I have not looked all the threads through, but it dos`nt look like anyone else are having these low fps on Xbox. That just seems strange - since both of my versions of the game are not closely optimal regarding fps. (and yes, I am one of those highly sensitive to fps reaching under the minimum 30 fps)

And don`t get me wrong - great game! One of the best I have played in all my years, well if one looks through the bugs and bad fps, but still.

I find the game to be relatively smooth overall, but there are times when the framerate drops below 30fps.

I personally found those frame drops to be most noticeable in crook back bog and Novigrad at night, but i haven't really noticed any major issues when fighting lots of enemies, or using witcher senses or in caves with torch or storms etc...

There have been stress tests performed on the xbox one version and under the worst conditions it was shown to,very briefly, drop as low as 22fps, but averaged out at 27fps. Outside of these areas it was generally shown to be running at 30fps for the majority of the time. (look for Digital Foundry and Gamersyde websites to check out these tests)

One thing i have noticed a couple of times is that if i have switched away from The witcher to view an app, used snap mode or resumed the game from overnight, the game can get a bit choppy looking. I normally quit the game when that happens, reload and everything is smooth again.

One last thing, i don't know if you've made it to Skellige yet, but the framerate there is 100% rock solid. If you are having framerate issues there, then something may be wrong. Try hard reseting your xbox if so.(hold button on front of console untill it turns off and leave for a minute or two)

Honestly, Xbox version is really smooth, in praticly every area, the only where i can see dips is in velen swamps, but only if storming...
Novigrad is smooth in every situation, fight several mobs can be a little stressfull but we are talking 27/28fps so...
I can play severals hours without seeing any dips, so i think you have a problem.
For me the game is 30fps 99.5% of the time...

I know most ppl will say that its perfect, smooth as silk etc, and I was the first to say how great it was when patch 1.04 was released. And I'm not sure why there's a disparity in experience. I don't claim to understand all the technical jargon, and don't have the hardware to test all the technical stuff, and can not argue with ppl that write well, and so on, - BUT, my experience on XboxOne with the Witcher 3 is not a good one either. I keep going back to other games, and can not get over how poor the camera stuttering, poor frame-rate the Witcher 3 has. I've given up complaining and asking for help. We'll just have to live with a sub-par experience, and accept that "its very smooth".

My son (12 year old) says that the Witcher 3 use "SpeedTree" and he believes that the developers made some major mistakes that causes all the visual camera panning issues, stuttering and poor frame-rate. - Now try to tell that to the developers... You'll get laughed at.

I like the game, I like the story, I like everything about the Witcher 3, but its not a full experience like Skyrim, GTA, etc,...

You'll just have to live with it, and try to enjoy what you can, and try to ignore the issues you are experiencing.

At the end of the day, its just a game.

It is very smooth. Astonishingly so compared with the state at launch. A solid 30fps more than 99% of the time, including cinematic scenes. The camera stutter has also been fixed entirely with v1.04. I was on here complaining non-stop, but now the game is smooth with a capital smoo.

There is something that causes stutter to return when minimising the game to watch TV or use other apps. Returning to the game later without restarting (the game) sometimes introduces a clear persistent stutter. Perhaps to do with switching to 50Hz and back?

The framerate is otherwise more consistent than Skyrim and GTAV 360.

Lol, there is no more stutering since 1.04, and as it have been said, the game run at a smooth 30fps 99% of the time, and when it dips it 27/28fps...
Xbox version is a technical marvel given the hardware.

Well, at least I am not alone with the experience on Xbox. My Xbox version is no were near 100% stable 30 fps when in Crookback Bog and Novigrad etc (maybe that is asking to much for a game this big, but it would have been nice though) I have also given up on "complaining" - as you write "at the end of the day it is only a game" and I really like this world they have created.. just wish it would run smoother. Hoping the future is brighter when thinking consoles and games - it seems like many are having quite a different experience than the next.

I am experiencing stutter/lag/fps drop - when riding slow on Roach and when it is raining in Novigrad, fighting in and just walking through Crookback Bog etc (maybe I lack the right words for the technical term, but still) just because you are having a different experience than me, that dos`nt mean you own the truth.

I don't mean to know the truth but videos are facts and you can see on every video (Gamersyde for example) that xbox version run at a smooth 30fps...
in fact when raining in Novigrad, u can see dips, but it 28/29fps at worst...
In the bog it drops to 25fps for 1sec and then its 27/28fps...
There are some dips of course but they r minor and i can play for hours without seeing a single dip.
TW3 on Xbox One is a smooth expérience in general, not perfect but not far :)

That may be true. And maybe I am just a bit sensitive to these "minor" drops in fps. But I do feel/see them big time when it happens. And it is not everywhere, some places it holds the 30 fps. I think I am just at my limit - I mean, missing NPC`s, minor texture pop-in, stuttering when riding slow on Roach, to some extent big fps drops in some caves when equipping a torch, menu lag/stutttering and missing sound.. I guess when all these things hit me ingame at one time, I tend to get a bit worked up. But as a very wise person once wrote - at the end of the day, it is just a game :)

Xbox one version has been really smooth for me, even in rain and in the swamps. After seeing videos of the PS4 version dipping to 19FPS I'm glad the Xbox version is a smooth as it is.

True. I also played AC:U after putting it away for some time (PS4) After that.. TW3 somehow did`nt seem so bad :) And TW3 is cool!

Agreed - It does seem like TW3 is running better on Xbox.
